how was Baldomir not "the man" Judas Ibf title was just as legit as Enzo Maccas title he got because a good fighter retired
Baldomir wasn't really the man because nobody actually believed he was the best fighter in the division, not even top 3. Judah's title was in no way legit given that he had 'defended' that belt in his last fight and lost. The IBF should have stripped him, it was a disgrace.
He beat the wba, wbc, ibf champion..... Thats the man of the division, So he became the man right then and there..... Who were these so called better fighters at welter at the time? Enzo didnt even win his belt. He didnt even fight for a vacant title. He beat some absolute no hoper for an interim title aka a title shot. And then was handed the title when Nelson retired... The fact he was parading around as a legitimate champion is a disgrace......
Do you honestly think that at any point in his career Baldomir has even been a top 3 welterweight, let alone the best? If you are using 'the man' in some technical sense to mean that we was the lineal champ then fair enough, but everyone knew he was shite. The way Macca got his title is the same way a load of other fighters have got theirs, the Judah situation on the other hand was a complete aberration. Keeping his belt solely because the guy who beat him couldn't afford the sanctioning fees is just ridiculous.
No, the biggest joke of all is the clowns on ESB who can't see what Haye really is: a media creation, a good businessman and a pretender at HW. Monte Barrett gave him a good fight. Monte ****ing Barrett! Either Klitschko would decapitate Haye.
Baldomir beat the top ranked fighter in the division, and was ranked number 1 by most boxing writers. So I dont know what technicality you are talking about, but i guess if you call beating the number 1 guy a technicality.......I dont know were you are coming from.... Macca was a cherrypick, thats why haye pushed for that fight
Theres different ways of looking at resumes Mock - put Haye down, caught him with a good shot (I saw it live) but Haye got up to win by KO. Lots of good fighters get put down by nobodies early in their careers or even lose to nobodies ie A Ward, B Hopkins, A Gatti, etc But they were/are good fighters. Thompson - Haye took a big step up in class against a fighter still barely competing in world class in only his 10th fight, and for the first 3 rounds sparkled, yes his corner threw in the towel to save him, but after the knockdown he was back on his feet and calling Thompson in. His eyes looked clear, but yeah he did gas and seems to have learnt from it. (I was at that one also) Gurov - As you say good result (I was at that one also) Fragomeni - You fail to mention that Haye beat him when he was undefeated, was ahead and is the only person to stop him, Fragomeni is only around 5ft 9 (smaller than Erdei) and has been beaten by WBO LHW champ Erdei who is 31-0 and made 11 defences of his belt against reasonable opposition but Erdei only beat Fragomeni by split dec in a close fight rather than a KO like Haye scored. Mormeck - Haye won his title in Mormecks back yard. Mormeck was the #1 CW at the time holding Ring, WBA & WBC titles, who was Haye meant to fight? Sure he got knocked down but he got up to score another KO win against the premier man of the division Mac - riding on the crest of a wave when Haye fought him and having a good run of defending his title, yet Haye got rid of him by KO in quick time, yes Mac has been beaten since but not as quickly or cleanly and could it be Haye ruined him? Barrett - got beaten by a Haye KO, it was a fight the fans called for on a poll, thats why Haye took it. Montes knock down you note wasnt called. Valuev - Haye won another world title away against a fighter with only one loss on his record, who Haye staggered something which no one else had done To win CW titles away against the premier man of his division and then defended against the fighter (Mac) the country wants him to fight is hardly cherry picking, then won his HW title away. Winning CW Ring, WBA, WBC, WBO TITLES & HW WBA TITLE hardly seems like a cherry picker. For ref, I think Hayes a good fighter, but seeing him fight live a few times has been more fluke then planned, so its not like hes a favourite fighter or anything, but is definately a good one
you are 1000 percent right, haye equals way overrated but still dangerous, which is a testament to the klits for wanting to fight a guy whom is a risky opponent who puts them in a lose lose situation, if they when they beat an overhyped joke which is most likely going to happen, and if they lose, they lost to this clown, the klits dont get enough credit on here, its not their fault the division sucks , they still fight everyone
-"he is extremely overhyped. He knows how to manage his career well, but he is a cherry picker" I agree he just another Floyd Mayweather-history will not be kind to these two.
