no you said that Hagler and Hearns fighting a war somehow did not make the fight less devasting for Hearns in losing. That my logic was insane. But my response was Duran fans use a loss he had with Hagler as a positive by saying he went 15 and did a good job, so therefore he somehow came out on top. By your logic, Duran fans saying that is insanity. That was my point. I don't think I took it out of context. My point originally was that the way people think psychologically, a closer fight does not diminish the loser as much as being beaten thourougly.

Manny Pacquiao has earned his status by defeating Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, and Oscar De La Hoya. If Floyd Mayweather boxes the Filipino's head off over 12 lopsided rounds, those victories are not undone.

Well I don't look at the names I just respond. Sorry. You both seem to want to prove me wrong instead of saying what your own viewpoint is.

Everything you've said in this thread thus far is the opposite to my viewpoint and that is why we are going back and forth.

We are saying what our viewpoint is and you're not hearing us. Our viewpoint is still that your viewpoint is illogical.

This fight is a big risk for both guys legacy. Beating Marquez and Hatton and Cotto is not the same as beating Mayweather. You know that also. This is the biggest fight for both guys in their whole career.

Yeah, I can see how you're confusing us, Mag. Because Addie is saying EXACTLY what I'm saying here.

I do not understand how you think that if two great fighters fight at the level of Mayweather and Pacman -and they are the best two fighters either has fought, that the winner will not significantly go up in ATG ranking and the loser will lose significantly. The reward for the winner is equal to usually to the nonreward (if you can say it that way) of the loser.

He's putting both Pacquiao and Mayweather in the same boat, whereas it's only Floyd who has something left to prove.

yeah I should look at the names when I am responding. I usually just respond and do not see who I am responding to. I will pay attention more to that here and other threads. Just a habit to respond. Sorry.

I don't think you're going to get this any time soon. I believe we three should declare an impasse.

You probably won't understand this either then.

In the event that Floyd Mayweather thoroughly dominates the Filipino destroyer, I'd still consider Manny Pacquiao greater. Shock, horror!

I am not sure that Pacman has nothing else to prove. Pacman has done a lot, but Delahoya and Hatton and Cotto and Clottey still do not match Mayweather. I agree Mayweather has more to prove than Manny, but still if Pacman loses by knockout then his legacy is affected big time.
