Another bizarre turn up for the books - who the hell sits on these things for the entire history of boxing??!!!! This looked a great fight - Moore as ever is just totally brilliant and Valdes althought outclassed was brave and gutsy

Quite a bit of Valdes coming out of the woodwork at the moment - long may it continue :happy

Moore looked superb there. His defence was good as he bobbed and weave on the inside and landed his hard and fast combinatiosn which were really impressive. But I was most impressed with how his straight rights and left hooks were hurting Valdes.

    Great footage ...

Valdez sure fought small ... if he fought that style v.s. Marciano I can not see it going long ...Rocky would have destroyed him ,.,,

Obviously Moore had the Moore class (haha) but I think Valdes looked pretty courageous and tried to slug it out with Moore but the extra quality in Moores punching showed - I think a Valdes-Marciano fight would've been a great fight to watch though - a real slugfest - the thing with Moore is, pretty much whoever he fought, his punching always looked that bit more cute and classy and clever than the other guy (more quality) - so i don't know, i think Valdes in with Marciano at the very least would be more of a straight out slugger vs another straight out slugger - even though I think Marciano would certainly have beaten Nino, I think it would've been a crowd pleasing fight. Also they looked very gracious towards one another at the end to whereas I thought there was meant to have been some grudge surrounding these two?? maybe i read it wrong somewhere?

Thanks for posting ...Moore was a mongoose indeed, crafty but a good fight.....Moore was incredible....Nino showed heart...I dont think he has any chance if he fought Marciano but it would have been exciting for a while.

The myth of Valdes is dying fast.

At any rate, Moore looks fantastic as the aggressor, just as every bit as slippery and sharp as off the backfoot. Great find. With that bobbing and weaving, and leaping left hook he favors Tyson at points.

Dude, this **** has been out there for years already. You need to get out there yourself and look for them, instead of simply waiting for them to come along. :good

Valdes was easy to hit. Marciano would have knocked him out.

Eeerrr don't get what you mean - my point was it only emerged on youtube like 2 days ago or something (didn't actually check who it was that put it up - but whoever it was has been sitting on it for longer than he should have - or maybe just didn't realise how important a peice of footage he had on his hands?? I'm constantly on the lookout - it took me about 10 years to track down someone who had the Ali-Marciano computer fight for christs sake - but now everyones got it - thats my point - I'm maybe 85% convinced the holy grail (Harry Greb fight footage) is out there somewhere and someone who knows nothing about boxing has got it and just doesn't understand he's sitting on a goldmine :patsch

ten years for the Ali Marciano fight?? Sure about that??

Well any way, I dont have this, never bother tracking it down myself.

But Moore look super here, not sure if this rises Marciano's one sided thrashing of Moore or not.

I dont think Valdes would last long with the Rock, but than again who knows??

I would loved to see the rematch in Vegas.

    Good stuff. :good
Is their 1955 title eliminator 15 rounder on film ?
It's that fight, and Valdes-Charles and Valdes-Cockell that should be seen before we give a final verdict on how good Valdes was during the period he was a potential opponent for Marciano.
