i'm not saying it lacked power but it was easy to see where it was coming from

very interesting that the Bruno tinted specs are still doing the rounds. I grew up with boxing in the 80's(still got a Bruno-Witherspoon poster somewhere)and spent several pub sessions later on trying to convince some donuts of an up and coming heavyweight(Lewis).
Brunos early career consisted of some serious tomato cans.
He could jab and bang but was too upright and orthodox and his muscletone took a lot of his fluidity.
i love ol'Frank but a lot of his success was down to Terry Lawless, his loveable personality and his relationship with the media.

Anyway, two "chinny" HW's who can bang, gonna be good.
Thinking Haye might have gone down the Valuev route, hit and move before Bruno could set his feet, but i think he would run out and swarm him a'la Enzo.
    KO 4

this is hard won as frank could knock him out with both hands but if you take it on this time it would be haye as he is a very fast and very good mover so i dont think frank would catch him so for me haye would win pts
but i think big frank was a credit to the brittish game as in thruth the first british heavy weight in a long time . i no lewis won it first but he was a canadia really and the canadian claim him as well but thats another topic

Im going to go for Haye KO though it could go either way.

Haye has had a few flash knockdowns and been wobbled a few times but Bruno getting hti flush is somethnig else. He just stands there eyes popping out of his head glued to the spot, if Haye caught him with a clean hook or uppercut the man would be a sitting duck.

I agree about Bruno. A manufactured fighter, fed on some diabolical tomato cans. A big strong fighter and quite vicious at times but he lacked a true fighting instinct, his mental strength wasn't tip-top and he hardly ever looked at all relaxed.
He was flakey. And he's being remembered with rose-tint, yes.

But the hype surrounding Haye is just a ridiculous and not based in reality. Monte Barrett and Nicolay Valuev are exactly the kind of bums you'd expect Bruno to beat too. And Haye's chin is suspect, it might prove to be in the Herbie Hide league.

Bruno's more proven. Until Haye fights a live opponent (not Ruiz!) it's sensible to pick Frank.

I love Frank Bruno but I think that Haye would fight a very strategic fight and take Bruno out with some heavy shots when he starts gassin in the later rounds...:yep

So hard to pick this one... As I am such a fan but my man would get beat here I think...:yep

    Bruno... Bruno... Bruno...

To be fair though, there's a bit of a difference between being hit by a 40 year old Carl Thompson in his twilight years, to getting clubbed by a prime Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson.

Bruno would be far too much for Haye IMO. He would dominate Haye, bust him up and have him out of there by the fourth. Bruno had an excellent chin, his problem was stamina and stress related, and he was also not the most natural fighter.

Haye's only hope is to get on his bike and give up the early rounds and try and win by late stoppage, when Bruno's stamina and stress levels would be a factor.

And am I the only one who can see Haye doing TV shows rather than serious training less than a month out from this Ruiz fight?

Ruiz is perfectly capable of giving even a primed Haye an argument; so a cocky, under-trained Haye is going to have his work cut out to win, and may have to rely on a hometown decision to get the job done.

I think he's doing a fantastic job of self promotion.

He'll be in great condition, no doubt.

i am afraid haye would be more likely to "violently explode" all over germaine greer's tits than do frank.

I hope you are right, and rumours of his weight gain are just that...

As possibly (maybe Amir as well) the only active British fighter with enough ability and charisma to break into the mainstream, we do not need him struggling against the 38 year old John Ruiz's of this world!
