If Wlad ads another notch to his belt against Chambers, will it help his legacy?

That's really cool, but i'm sure Sugar didn't show you how to lift your lead foot off the ground at the point of impact.

Sure he got good torque on it; using his arm and his shoulder and any momentum.

That was one of Wlad's better performances. And yes, indeed, the crowd was very enthusiastic throughout the rounds. And I don't get it. Maybe McGrain is right. Maybe I'm just too American.

Or maybe I just would like to see two superb, elite athletes offer their best and fight with courage.

Chambers never again be the same after this loss but, it ain't a physical issue from a beating.... NO! Chambers was beaten by Wlad Klit throughly over 11 rds, but not like a serious ass-kickin' that destroys a man.... The KO was scary... Eddie was concussed.... BUT! He'll recover fully in a health sense.....

The thing that will haunt and hinder Eddie Chambers' career is, he is not a true heavyweight and he now has earned a sizable early form of a 401k retirement account--Thanks to the "K" brothers........ So, with money and a knack for being genetically a bit pudgy, Eddie Chambers will likely do what many have done before him and, that is, take the money and run home and feed his face and get hooked on TV while drinking Pepsi and munching on Dorito's and ripping farts off the couch to CSI: Miami....

    Note:

Big Paychecks have a way of taking the fight game out of a potentially damn good fighter who is still in his prime...... Primes' have been ruined cuz of a flood load of money ran into a fighters bank account...... See 'Riddick Bowe' and 'Gerry Cooney' for proof..........

We would all like to see that.

My point is that Wlad and Vitali are really good for the sport this side of th pond. They don't "hurt" it, they enhance it. Somewhere, out there, is the next Armstrong, Jones, Hopkins, Louis, Holyfield, Lopez, whomever, and there's no reason at all he couldn't be German or Ukrainian or Russian. And had these two not happened along there's really not much reason for them not to find their way into soccer or law instead of boxing.

They also generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the fight game. There's no down side to their contribution, really, aside from their fights not being to a lot of people's taste.

Chambers was the #3 contender and most people probably thought that he and not Povetkin was the #3 guy owing to Povetkins showings since he beat Chambers.

Chambers beat Sam Peter who had verry recently been the Ring Magazine #2 guy. Don't forgett that Ring Mag had named Wlad vs Peter II as the fight the division needed the most. Add a win over the ranked Dimitrenko (who had many of Wlads physical advantages) and you have a strong challenger.

I could acept your argument about Byrd being Wlads best win.

As for Chambers future, lets see what happens. He has bounced back from a loss once.

The "K" brothers are great for SPORTS history........ You don't hear of them making front page news from rapes, gang violence or destroying a nightclub like several jackass's in recent history have done or are about to do....... The "K" brothers are family men who live cleanly....... Okay, perhaps a few "Roids" slip in here and there, but so what.?.? Point is, they (Wlad & Vitali) are good guys and project a + image.......

You obviously don't understand where one's weight is supposed to be at the impact of a hook, going backwards whipping the hook around. It doesn't matter where the lead leg is, it has done it's job. You load the lead and transfer to the rear...

ugh, forget it. you can go on believing that was arm punch or that wlad doesn't know how to throw a hook. i won't lose any sleep over it.

 right, the lead leg doesn't matter in the left hook once the punch has been thrown.

Peter however had lost in a terrible effort against Vitali in which he quit, and showed up 25 pounds overweight against Chambers in a dull fight where neither looked overly impressive. Peter was dropped out of top 10 after the loss.

Chambers became highly regarded due to his win over Dimitrenko, but everyone who saw Dimitrenko struggle with journeyman Batchelder knew he wasn't truly the goods.

This is the prefered positioning for the lead leg in the hook according to Sugar Ray:

These are the kind of reasons that do not resonate well through history.

I like Wladdy, but Chambers was perfectly within his rights to pull that, imo. Wlad does that "I'm the big guy, hows about I drape myself over you every chance I get?" move and Eddie said, "No, no, Jack. Not with me." Body slam!

Thats a trick Steward started with Lewis. These guys are 250 pound men, leaning on and putting all their weight on the usual smaller opponent takes a lot out of them, especially in the latter part of the fight.

Primo Carnera understood it as well as anybody ever has.
