Wlad has yet to become undisputed champ. That indicates dominance. Not having another belt holder you refuse to fight. Who's better out of the 2? Nobody knows, because they won't fight. So Wlads not dominant at all, especially as I think his brother is better. Yep, that's pretty good. You're being a bit tricky there, counting the WBO when it was a piece of garbage at heavyweight. I don't know enough about the 50's to counter that. The 80's? I think the generation of fighters that wasted their careers on coke was better than the current mob, but some of them were **** yeah. I think the likes of Cooney, Witherspoon, Thomas, Bruno, Tubbs etc would have put up much better fights than some I've seen recently.
Vlad won the gold medal in the "SUPERHEAVYWEIGHT" Division. Vlad is cleaning out all the top ten. He will probably fight Povetkin next who is also a gold medalist. He would have fought Haye, but Haye broke a signed contract and ran. Haye also broke a contract with Vitali and ran.
He's another fun fact...... Wlad probably loses to every single one of those fighters........ Another fun fact........ Lewis, Tyson, Bowe, Foreman, Frazier and Louis could KO every single person Wlad has ever been in the ring with.
Noone questions his stats(KO percentage, etc), its the fact that he's dominating a HW class full of blown up CWs with a calculated, amateurish style.
I agree and great post :good I understand their argument on that the others faced tougher comp, and earlier.... and im not throwing that out the window, but to act like wlad cant finish a fight or doesnt is obviously absurd. Wlad still looks a little too vulnerable to me, and i DO get a little fustrated when he wont open up, but i think people need to chill a bit. They go on and on about his losses, 2 from completely burning himself out, and then fault him for being a fighter smart enough not to trip on the same rock twice and who STILL dominates almost every minute of every round. Wlad isnt as offensive as he used to be, i understand that, but when two of your losses come from gassing out, theres probably a reason he switched tactics (though i would like to see him do more of what he did with chambers, and i actually think its perfect, win the fight up until around the 9th, then if he feels he has the gas, go for broke the last three and try to get the knockout because usually by then his opponents have given up trying to win and its nice to see wlad go for the stoppage) but seriously, the hate the guy gets is unreal. But then again, lets remember back to when Lewis was around.... i remember very well how disrespected he seemed to be when he was active, and no ****, not a year and a half after his retirement everything started to change and all of a sudden he was this highly respected fighter. It might take Wlad retiring for him to be appreciated (though again, i do understand the fustration)
Did you bother looking into the reality that Wlad had fought 24 times in the first 2 years of his pro career?:rofl So... now he gets penalized for being a busier fighter too? Did you take the time to realize that most of Wlad's decisions actually came during those early fights when their weren't many rounds? Did you realize that since Wlad has stepped up his competition that he has continued to knock out his opponents and actually now has an even BETTER KO% than he did in his early career in lesser round fights against guys just there to survive with him? Do you realize that you ended your "amazing investigation into Wlad's first 33 fights" which was only slightly over 3 years into his entire pro career. So... let's take a look at what happened after that magical 33rd professional fights as far as KO% and the obviously rise in competition level there after. Wlad has fought 24 more fights since that date. Only 3 of those fights have gone the distance. 17 of those fights were Title fights. Just about all of them were against other Champions, Top contenders or #1 rated mandatory Challengers. So, since your little "cut off date", which was 10 years ago. Wlad has only had 3 fights go the distance. That sort of blew your little theory to ****, eh?:yep
Those are called "opinions" genius. :good This is why I always slap you around so easily in arguments. I use facts... you use opinions.
Your facts mean ****!!!! Yeah Wlad is one of the hardest punchers in the history of the division but he's also one of the biggest pussies. Now thats a FACT wether you wanna believe it or not.:good
Nope. That just another one of your opinions. A rather pathetic one at that. Keep trying... One of these days you might learn the difference between fact and opinion.
Yep, his style is structured around this ***** syndrome. Lets call it the Klit Syndrome. It's not his fault. He recognized a congenital weakness (bad chin) and has built a fortress around it. Props to him for that, even if it does kill the entertainment of boxing (Hey PBF kills it too with his "skills" Ditto for Hops). IMO Haye should study Wlad's tapes and do exactly thesame if he wants a HW career. Of course Widdow guy wants everyone to believe Wlad is this flawless, impenatrable fighter. Furthermore he wants us to believe that Wlad is marvelous to watch. Hbo and its viewers apparently disagree.
I don't hate Wlad by any means but I don't like watching him either. Simply because he's boring as ****.
Um, no. Not really. Because he got sparkoed in 2 of them, which really doesn't have much to say about his power now, does it? He won 31 out of his first 34 by KO, RTD or TKO. Lost 1, won 1 by DQ and 1 by UD. That's about 91% KO rate in my eyes. (counting a retirement as a KO. Not too sure if that's right, but I think it is.) Since then, he's had 33 fights. Won 2 by UD, 2 by RTD, Lost 2, and 1 by TD. Rest by KO or TKO. So, that's what. 28 KO's out of 33. So, about 85% KO rate. Looks like my argument stands up pretty ****ing well to be honest. I don't know how well your argument about "short fights and guys wanting to go the distance in early fights" stands up. Byrd was only the second bloke to go the distance with him.
And might learn that facts have to be real too Widdow. Did you take the time to realize that most of Wlad's decisions actually came during those early fights when their weren't many rounds? 1 of them. The other decisions were against Chris Byrd, TD with Touch of ****, UD with Peter and Sultan. So, yeah, all but one of Wlads decisons were against the top guys. You're just making **** up now mate. Not using facts at all.
He out weighed Eddie Chambers by 35 pounds and considering the fact that if Chambers was in the same shape as Wald he would probably weigh around 185 pounds. He was 5 inches taller. Hit harder. Faster. More skilled. All facts yes??? Another one.... Chambers has a KO% of under 50 percent and consider that he's only fought about 5 good fighters Guinn, Brock, Povetkin, Peter and Dimitrenko and he went the distance with all of them and only hurt Dimitrenko that doesnt speak highly of his punching power. Now with all that your telling me Wlad fighting "safty first" in fear of taking a punch isnt fighting like a *****??? Chambers had no wins in that fight Wlad has no excuse for fighting like that esp after the second round when it was clear he could hurt Chambers when he connected.
