A disgrace is when fighters don't do anything but put themselves in a defensive mode when they are in a championship fight. It means they are content with just collecting their money and don't care about giving the fans what they want. Wlad is not the most exciting fighter but he is strong enough to win by stoppage. He has a higher KO percentage than Hopkins, Mayweather, Spinks, Ruiz, and everyone else who is considered a snore in the ring. It's true, the HW division is depleted but it's not Wlad's fault. He beat a prime Sam Peter didn't he? You would probably **** your pants if you were thrown in the ring with a young and hungry version of Peter. Wlad was rocked in that fight with Peter but did enough to win, even nearly knocked out Peter. This shows he's got some grit. He's also beaten a former champ in Byrd. There was a size mismatch but we all know size alone doesn't make you an elite fighter. Otherwise Valuev would be just as good or better than Wlad which he isn't. Wlad's and Tyson's resume are at least comparable. They both knocked out a bunch of cans and have beaten a few solid contenders. In order to appreciate them you have to really focus on their ability to win by way of stoppage. A real snore fest is when you win by decision a majority of the time.
Tim Bowe, you ignorant HO. Let us know when any of your fights are going to be televised so we can bask in your mediocrity.
Toney Thompson wasn't good? Neither was Ibragimov or Chagaev? Or Rahmann, or Peter, or Byrd, or Brewster or anyone since his last loss? Damn, who the hell does he have to beat to get any credit? If you say Haye, I say GTFO because Haye has an amazing three wins at Heavyweight and if Wlad beats him up, everyone will say Haye was not a true heavy, not experienced enough, having a bad day, suffering from menstrual cramps, etc...
That was a complete fluke against Lewis, Rahman deserved the win but when has Lewis ever backed straight up with his hands down while he was in his opponent's range? I swear I think Lewis smoked a fatty before the fight. His eyes looked a bit glazed......:rasta.......either way Lennox took Rahman too lightly, something that Wladimir won't ever do again. He's had his own share of taking the opposition too lightly earlier in his career and he's learned his lesson.
If Wlad beats Haye, Haye wasn't a true heavyweight If Wlad beats Tua, Tua was old & shot If Wlad beats Briggs, it's the asthma If he beats Povetkin, Solis & Boytsov, they weren't experienced enough
How many years ago were those fights? :rofl He's a different fighter now & he never takes his opponent too lightly. Hurts doesn't it?
Rumor has it that Wlad took Sanders waaaaay too lightly, so much that he didn't even spar against any southpaws in preparation for that fight. Ask Chef, I'm sure that topic has come up at one time or another.
mpson Thompson & Austin were the same size & Tony was a very good boxer, just not as good as Wlad. Tony had just beaten another very good boxer Luan Krasniqi..................
I would give him a ton of credit if he finished his career with those names. They are the most interesting fights out there IMO. Not so much Briggs though.
You and me both. :thumbsup Let Briggs & Tua earn their shots though................if either can beat a true top 10 Heavyweight then I'd be all for it. Otherwise, he'd just get more complaints from the haters.
