    This thread's to lavish praise upon the warriors who know it's all but over but just don't contemplate quitting.

    What fights can you remember where a fighter went beyond the call of duty just to step out of that ring knowing they could go home with head held high without a moment of regret. They could take the easy route but there pride wouldn't let them roll over for no man.

    The commentators shouting ''how long before the ref steps in, will the corner stop it, how much punishment can this man take!!!''

    They could of been knocked out swinging for the fences,they may have been stopped on feet but they went out with honor. But they did it the right way.

    It shows you how bad some guys want it...they fight through broken bones and life threatening injuries just so they can't be called a ''bum''.

    Thats Emotional that, the way Holyfield trainner jumps in a hugs him at the end......

    You see the disappointment and fustration on Holyfields face, the man never ever gives up....and will never take a knee.

    In that fight, i think he was battling with too many issues, injuries etc...

    He was more embarrassed and tired than hurt against James Toney...!

    I was gonna say Vince Phillips against Hatton. He took a body beating that night and was unreal. I think he later tested positive for illegal substance...we gotta keep this club clean..can't be having him in if that's true.

    This is what i like about boxing, sometimes you can see.."Life"..when i say "Life" i mean.

    You can see it...that "Will" to survive and stay there.

    Its like them people who climb buildings, and bridges for a laugh. Can you remember that programme on channel 4 awhile back about it..?

    One man was asked why he does it..

    And he said..

    "I feel every second, a second feels like one minute..you feel the meaning of life and to live, when your on the edge"

    Beyond the Call of Duty.."Going out on your shield"

    I admire people, who realise in the middle of fights.

    "Hey I'm not gonna win, but i'm not gonna give up"

    I've watched many fights, and there is a expression that says all of that..and only sensitive individuals and highly intelligent people can see this moment.

    Some fighters realise they are being outclassed and out gunned. And they choice to survive, there is a difference between surviving and going out on your shield.

    Tony Tucker vs Mike Tyson.....Tony Tucker survived. "After he injured his hand, still fought well"

    Kevin Johnson vs VK.......KINGPIN survived.

    Going out on your shield, is when you know...it is going to be "The mother of all..up hill of ****ing struggles to win"

    But still, you fight like a man who's family and life is being threatened.

    But still, you fight like somebody who knows...

    "Hey nobody ever gave me nothing, we all gonna die some day, but i will die going down in flames....in flames."..!

    Thats Beyond the call of duty..!

    The second one is the one I find most heartbreaking. Alexis actually gives up, but he took a horrendous beatdown before that and he cried in the post fight interview. This video chokes me up.
