He also beat Zab Judah to win the WBC WW title and The Ring Magazine title awarded to the fighter recognized as the legitimate champ of a division. Baldo went on to succesfully defend that title against future HOFer Arturro Gatti who himself had just come off a dominating performance against an undefeated WW contender.
