That was not a normal knock out, his knock out was worse than all roy jones ko's this man wasn't even taking in air for 20 seconds i heard.... His body shut off the plug was pulled and he doesn't even remember the 12th round. I like the kid but that's not a normal Ko....i think its unsafe for him to fight again... think of anyone that was ko'd like him they stopped boxing and don't say tua vs ruiz
I've done some work with brain injuries. The dude had a pretty serious knock. He obviously has a concusion. But the lack of air thing you talked about is pretty scary. I hadn't heard that. The thing with brain injuries is once you've had one it become more and more easy to have another one. And a similar impact will cause much worse to happen. Its why Jermian Taylor should never fight again. And its why sometimes you can litterly sometimes see a guy's chin "crack". I maybe wouldn't go so far as to say he should just give it up. But **** the road back to the top might be too long. I know his manager is a good guy and is into real estate development and all. I hope they have a plan for Eddie post boxing cause if they do he probably made at least a cool million for the fight --> it might be the right time to move on to other things. Edit: Just one thing to add here. After watching it again I don't think he stopped breathing. Normally when a guy stops breathing from a head injury its cause of damage to his brain stem (the medulla to be exact). Generally when that part of the brain is temporarilly taken out of commission you get whats called the decorticate position or the decerabrate position. The decotaticate position is arm and hand posture that Ricky Hatton and Jermain Taylor did when they got knocked out in their last fights. You can also sometimes see a hypoxic seizure. I didn't see either. But if you want to see something kinda cool go back and re-watch those other two knockout and notice how ridged both of their hands and arms get. Thats the basic anti-gravity posture that the spine and the brain stem would have the body make if there was no communication from the brain. Shitty for them but kinda cool to watch if you know what you are looking at.
It was a very brutal knockout indeed. But I don't see why he should stop fighting. He had done very well up to the point he faced Wlad and he's a pretty skillful fighter. He can continue fighting just fine, just don't let him face Wlad again.
right its also why jones needs to retire... i honestly think jones moves well etc.. just he doesn't have what it takes to catch a punch any longer much different when you get Stopped on you're feet or if you are counted out i think the glen Johnson ko was worst than the tarver one the guy slhd not have came back so soon but this Eddie one is a different level man

Well, I don't think Chambers was "great" in the first place. If he hasn't suffered irreparable damage from his fight with Klitschko, he can definitely go back and rack up some good wins, as I said he's got the skills to do so. Plus, the chances of him getting knocked out like that by any other fighter not named Klitschko are pretty slim, imo.
You might be right. Chambers could be damaged goods as a result of this. Then again, maybe not. Unless it can be shown he suffered some serious physical injury, it should be up to him if he continues his career. Personally, I think a move down to cruiser would be a good idea, but HW is where the $$ are at.
I guess its a hard decision to make. Chambers is not all and probably feel he has many years left on the highest level. At1, I think I've seen on this board that you are a pro. Would you just quit if suffering a ko like chambers although you had big fights and pay days to look forward to?
there have been worse knockouts ..it looked bad and you guys havent seen a good heavyweight one in a while youre all acting like a bunch of sissys.... theres heavyweight journeyman who have been knocked out 15 times...chambers had his first...BFD atsch ever seen thunder vs grimsley? page vs wills? witherspoon vs ekland? all ALOT worse
depends as a fighter you feel no one can Ko you.... you think you are too smart.... nibble etc... good chin whatever the case is the thing is.. The guy doesn't even remember his mistake he forgets the 12th round totally .. I think he will get ko'd again training is so mental ... it's more mental than getting in the ring if you have doubts it will show up and mite not even allow you to win
