Poor Kubrat even looks like Chagaev. :nut But his time will come most likely after Vitali's retirement when 1-2 titles will be vacent for the 'rest'. Still, he might have a good chance vs. Wlad, though Ruslan is very highly skilled, Pulev IMO is faster, athletically more gifted, and of course bigger than Chagaev, and all of those are needed vs. Wlad.

Boystov now has a new trainer as Sdunek retired due to health issues, and IMO he could be lethal given the right approach (controlled aggression).

 

Why are we still talking about the two brothers as if they are one fighter?

If you combine the best wins of their resumes it equates to a good CV but lets not forget we're dealing with two fighters here.

What will each do after Povetkin, Haye and Solis?

Retire hopefully.

Also impressively Pulev(7-0) is taking on Platov(28-1)

these Euro guys are moving along very quickly and not wasting time like their US counterparts.

 

Both are soon ranked top10 and then real fights beginning

 

?? Pulev is as skilled, perhaps even more, and is 6'4 1/2 but you don't think he has a chance and think Helenius has a better one?

He's close to Helenius's size with tons more skill.

Pulev has beat Oloukun, Page, Skelton, Batcherfield after only 7 fights. He's being brought along faster than probably even Povetkin was.

Helenius has wins over Bidenko, Brewster, Gammer in only 11 fights.

Very impressive by both guys and exciting. Just because you don't follow the division or don't know them doesn't mean they aren't good. What it means is that you're a jackass who feels fine talking **** about things you don't know anything about. :good

 

They already have cleaned out. If you look at the generation of fighters who held the belts a few years ago, only the Klitschko are left standing. At one point Wlad, Chagaev, Ibragimov and Peter held the alphabet titles, and all 3 have lost to a Klitschko. Other significant fighters at the time like Chris Byrd and Lamon Brewster also lost to Wlad. To me, only Ruiz and Valuev stand out as elite fighters of that time who the Klit's never fought.

The current crop of fighters like Arreola, Chambers, Haye, Povetkin and Adamek are a new generation of fighter. If the K's beat the latter 3, I think it would be fair to say they've leaned out the division twice

 

I honestly cant see how people try and make out the division is anything more than
terrible.

You cannot argue that the likes of Chagaev, Ibragimov, Dimitrenko, Peter, Valuev etc are criminally underrated because they are not muscular Americans. And I'm picking the BEST crop of the recent contenders here. They are all lacking in most departments including skill, size, speed in particular, power in particular...

The contenders are simply very poor, and there is very little depth. The argument that they are in fact, really good but just not marketable Americans just doesn't wash I'm afraid.

Just look at the pathetic 'attempts' made by Ibragimov, Chagaev, Peter recently against the K's. The K's are not even close to unbeatable...they have size, robotic skillsets and power but not to the degree that a so called 'good' contender is turned human punchbag for 12 rounds against them.

Even if you do consider the likes of Iggy, Chagaev etc to be solid fighters, in so far as their workrate, skillset etc you have to concede that they utterly lack anything remotely resembling a whiff of x factor.

At least in the 90's, and I will pick just a few contenders here, they posessed some real intangibles and presented some genuine danger to the big men.

Ruddock - solid skillset, big puncher, size
Tua - Huge left hook, great chin
Mercer - Tough as nails, good puncher.
Briggs - size, fast hands, big puncher
Bruno - Great jab, good skills, size, punch.

And these are just a few of the lesser contenders.

The division is ****. The fact that Haye and Adamek are perhaps the best bets to dethrone the K's says a lot.

So you are actually making comparisons with Price and Fury here?

And anyway, my point wasn't about size, it was about the total lack of any dangerous intangibles present in the current crop of contenders.

Just fat plodding Euros with not much power or speed, and a basic skillset.
