Is there any person in Indianola, Iowa that knows boxing and is willing
to help train a college student? I really want to box but just don't know how to get started. Thanks.

Can you still box in the amateurs if you've fought as a professional in MMA? If this has been covered I apologize. I would assume no.

What about if you've competed in amateur MMA? There was a fuzzy mention about not being able to compete if you've had prior experience in other combat sports or something of the like.

A friend sent me this video of a kid boxing in a charity event. The kid is trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and had never boxed. I was impressed.

Exhibitions are allowed in the U.S, they have exhibitions in Illinois, Wisconsin and in Minnesota, been to them and know they are allowed. Some states do not allow them, it's up to the boxing rules set up by each state. They also allow tough man contests in Minnesota and in Wisconsin, though in Wisconsin you have to call them kick boxing exhibitions. :bbb

A few questions; How many rounds is a bout? How long do the rounds last?
Is there weight classes? Do the ABA contact you to set a fight or if not how do you go about finding a fight? Does your coach find the fights for the boxers?

I've got my medical next week and I'm really looking forward to competing.

Is there a site that lists all the boxing gyms in a certain area (UK)?

Excuse me, let me rephrase. Under USA Boxing's rules exhibitions aren't allowed, don't count toward your fight total, and can lose you your amateur status.
