Hatton vs Mayweather was absolutely huge in the UK. Everyone was talking about it and I think thats why May said he wanted in the UK before he retires

You are vastly underrating the influence of the 24/7 show. Floyd vs Marquez would have never even came close to those numbers without that show. That show is the best thing to hit boxing for quite some time. Almost like the TUF show for the UFC. Those types of shows draw a lot of viewers, get people talking, and really get people interested in the upcoming fight.

You're kidding right? Floyd was the draw for that fight. Don't fool yourself. People bought that PPV to see if how Floyd looked since his retirement and to see if JMM could do anything against Floyd. Hispanics have never really bought JMM PPV's. Look at his PPV history. :deal It's terrible when he's the A-side. I can't believe someone is arguing that JMM is a PPV draw. :rofl:rofl:rofl

By the way JMM/Casamayor was on Golden Boy PPV.

I think one has to concede that PPV wise- floyd is a bigger draw in America. but ppv isnt everything. Pacquiao draws more PPV internationally no doubt- which is a figure that is impossible to guage, more internet streaming follower certainly, more tourism- as in - more people travel to see him fight than anyone, as well as higher merchandising numbers than anyone in boxing.

So using PPV as a means of gauging popularity is very flawed.

You speak of this international PPV hit Pacquiao is but the numbers that are out there don't back that up. Please show me the international number that show Pacquiao is bigger PPV star than Floyd. I know it wasn't against De La Hoya or Hatton.

    Exactly!

Since Cotto is generally a bigger draw than Mosely, then Pac-Cotto should be at least comparable to Floyd-Shane.:deal

if any fight isn't HBO PPV or Showtime PPV

It really has no justification in being deemed with HBO. Promoters only put so much into small time PPVs.

If JMM/Casa did 100k+ on golden boy, thats very solid.

of course manny clottey will get doubled by mosley and mayweather- you have two american ppv guys who have been on the scene for 10 years versus 2 guys who are foreign born- dont speak english and have only been known relatively quite recently. no amateur background, etc.

i dont know why ya ll are flipping- of course the americans will sell more, of course theyre more popular ....in america. but apparently there are more countries in the world than america. just a rumour though.

It would have gave it some steam. It's the intrigue behind the fight, they build up the opponents and show different sides that draw the public... clottey is such a humble and nice guy that he would've stole some hearts in the show...

Stole some hearts? Come on, both are nice fighters. No one wants to watch two guys being respectful to each other. Doesn't make good TV.

And specially if they both dont speak that great of english.
