:think So your suggesting Martinez is a fighter similar to Judah? Good points as I also feel Martinez has the lack of discipline or skills not being on par with his athleticism. Pavlik also seems to get stronger as the fight goes on. Yet Martinez was not 100% when he took the fight on a short notice. I don't think that will be enough time for him to learn new skills, but his stamina should improve and if that improves, so will his defense and workrate. He did say he wanted to ko Pavlik which I think is the wrong gameplan, Martinez already showed he fights very good going backwards, so if he can't ko Pavlik he can always resort back to staying on the outside. Sergio is just too good of a fighter compared to what Pavliks been fighting against recently. I like Pavlik, but he hasn't shown any improvements since his loss to Hopkins and is very hittable. I'll take Martinez by SD.
Even though I think Pavlik nutted up against Williams, I think he would have beaten Paul, and I think he'll beat Martinez. He's much bigger and stronger, and if Sergio fights Kelly the way he fight Paul, he won't last past the 3rd round.
What up! Dbouziane! Didn't get tickets yet cause a partner of mines said he me able to get a hook up by the end of this week. If he doesn't come thru with the tickets by Friday then I'm purchasing them on Saturday! I got my room booked for the night already! Using blackberry so I can't quote!

It is certainly not a foregone conclusion. Let's weigh it up. Martinez is a wonderful boxer with silky skills and definitely has the tools to outbox Pavlik. The thing is, whilst Pavlik may not have the boxing skills Martinez possesses, he has incredible power and and a very high work rate and a solid chin to top it off. Martinez is out of his comfort zone fighting at middleweight and the fact of the matter is, he has not fought anyone with the power of Pavlik, who punches as hard as any of the SMWs. I just cannot see Martinez being able to outbox Pavlik for twelve rounds. Pavlik will keep applying pressure as I do not believe Martinez has the power to KO Pav. This means sooner of later Pavlik is going to get at Martinez and hurt him. If Margarito could hurt him, you can bet your bottom dollar Pavlik can. People somehow think it will be Hopkins all over again, but we must remember that this is at Pavliks desired weight (not that Pavlik would have beaten B-Hop anyway but that is besides the point) and he is fighting a much smaller opponent. So my prediction is Pavlik by KO/TKO. I have no idea when it will come, early mid or late, but I think he will get it. I expect Martinez to be ahead on the cards before the fight is stopped though. It isn't a foregone conclusion, there is a chance Martinez makes it twelve rounds and gets a decision but I think those chances are very slim (i'd give him maybe a 10% chance). I will, however, be cheering on Martinez, the dude is freaking awesomely talented and will fight just about anyone. He deserves to get a win after the valiant effort he displayed against Paul Williams. Good luck to both fighters. Looking forward to the fight.:bbb
Martinez said he will have Pavlik all figured out after 8 rounds, and then he'll bust him up and knock him out. Perhaps someone should tell Mr Martinez that the vast majorty of Pavlik's fights are over before they even get that far! All these declarations about how "skilled" Martinez is make me just sit back and shake my head. The man is good at what he does, and what he does is brawl. He's an unorthodox brawler with fast hands and feet. Nothing more. His best punch is a right hook on the inside, and because of the way he fails to set it up appropriately, I think Ray Charles could see that **** coming. For those who may not know, Ray is blind, AND DEAD! Pavlik will hit him HARD with a short over hand right, a left uppercut, and another right hand. If all three punches land flush, the fight is over. Sergio's only other truly dangerous weapon is the straight lead left. Again, he rarely sets it up appropriately. He charges in face first, and let's his opponent see it coming from 3 feet away. He'll catch a 1-2 for his trouble, and we all know what happens when KP lands a 1-2. The first time Pavlik lands a flush jab/right-hand he'll own the fight from that point on. Martinez loves to clinch, but he pretty much sucks at it. Pavlik will beat seven shades of **** out of Martinez everytime he tries it. He got away with slipping his right arm around PW's waist and doing a huggy bear routine, Pavlik don't play that way. Today Martinez fights exactly the same way he fought Margarito ten years ago. Anyone willing to sit down and watch him can see that. He lost to the only two pressure fighters he has fought. Pavlik is a bigger, stronger, smarter, harder punching pressure fighter than Margarito or Williams. Pavlik is strategically and tactically superior to the two fighters Sergio already lost to.
I expect he will. For as long as it lasts. Considerably better boxer. However, I expect Pav to get the KO here. If he doesn't, he needs to start thinkin' 'bout construction work.
'Bout ****in' time. I had to read your posts with one hand blocking that av. My eyes couldn't take the pain ! Get your ass back to the states. Obamacare passed. You can now get free therapy for that condition.
I take it since you rate Sergio so highly flawed and hopeless in this match, you won't give Pavlik much credit for defeating him?
