Yes but unfortunately boxing has that pesky TKO rule.

Like I previously stated, it should have been stopped after the third.

Sure, I certainly don't question the stoppage and the outcome.

But I do question the logic that puts Lewis on a higher level than Vitali because of that stoppage.

Rematch may have gone the other way, they were close.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Lewis trailing by something like only 2 points on the judges' cards?

    It's a ***** of a rule that TKO.

Again spot on. It was a close fight but Vitali was getting the better of it. Yes he was badly cut up by Lennox's punches but he was never wobbled at all and was doing very well in the fight. Yes i know cuts are a part of boxing and lennox has a TKO win in the record books but as i stated earlier i still regard Vitali as an undefeated fighter.

Yep, and that's the whole point, the fact that Lewis was trailing at the time of the stoppage.

It wouldn't appear logical to rate Lewis higher than Vitali based on that fight.
    Why?

Some strange interpretations surfacing for the Lewis v Wlad bout.

IMO the picture (see above) tells the story. That eye aint going another round let alone 6!

As I think 20a87 said, it's not dissimilar to a KO, so what went before it don't count at all.

Lewis is on a higher level due to what he achieved as undisputed champ & the calibre of fighters he beat to get there, plain & simple. And he was way past his prime when he fought Vitali & still look at the damage he did to his face. I would have loved it go another 6 rds & maybe we could of seen an eye hanging out of it ssocket held bit a piece of sinew. I rate Vitali but no way in hell was he going to pull a rabbit out of his arse to win in that fight. Ippy's pic speaks what happened **** the scorecards.

Trailing by 2 points half way through a fight. You must be the only person that is not Klitschko's immediate family that rates either of them above Lewis, if that is indeed the case.

Fair enough, that's pretty hard to dispute.
I wouldn't, I had no problem with the stoppage.
I'm not saying he would have, but it's certainly possible. Vitali didn't seem to troubled by the cut, and was still fighting at a similar pace to Lewis.

Look, I'm not for one minute saying the fight should have went on, or that it was the wrong decision.
I just can't see how Lewis could be labelled the better fighter based on that fight.
At no point did Lewis show that he was the superior fighter that night.

Anyway, I've said my bit, we'll agree to disagree. :good

    No, actually.
Ash asked me the same thing the other week, and I said this to him.....

Sox died about 5 years ago, was my best mate.....
Cobber is the bloke in the picture, he died late last year, another good mate.

Still have a small Blue Cattle X named Chopper and a German Shepherd named Diesel.
Chopper is another real clever dog, similar to Sox.

Will get another soon, once I'm over the loss of Cobber, had to put him to sleep. Very hard thing to do.

Know where your coming from mate. I've got 6 hounds that I chase swine with. Had to bury a few over the years behind the kennels. Never ever easy to do.
