So do you think he should of avoided a fight with JCC?
I thought it was going to be the passing of the torch, but that **** backfired in a way.

I could swear I remember seeing a sold out crowds on their feet waving mexican flags everywhere during Oscar's ring entrances the last part of his career.

Probably because he's a little effeminate and he didn't always fight like a typical Mexican with his balls to the wall. The whole JCC thing also pissed a lot of Mexicans off.

Because he beat an old past prime Chavez and he loved every second of it, sadistic.

i dould never understand that about most mexicans. i was always a fan of dlh because i always believed he was quality, ever sinse the olympics. here was a kid who was so proud of his blood that he waved a mexican flag in victory while representing his homeland at the olympic games. he was intelligent, articulate and respectful with teen idol good looks, but best thing of all, he could fight. mexican culture had a positive representative on the worlds sport stage and many of them decided to hate on him for whatever reason.

Hes a quitter and hes mexi-american. Plus he did alot of stupid **** just so the mexican people would like him. He had to be pressured into doing things for his community. Guy isnt a good dude flatout.

:good Exactly. I was a fan before he gave an old Chavez a beat down, then he ran from Tito. :-( Beating Chavez wasnt too bad but running from our rival is horrible

I've seen people uneducatedly say that because DLH beat Chavez, Mexicans dont like him.....
The Mexican hate of DLH started well before the Chavez fights.
.....Mexican's rooted against DLH in his fights with Paez, Ruelas, and Chicanito Hernandez.

......from the start it was evident that DLH was a fake, he was too much about himself and the promotional side of conning the public.......
Mexican fight fans just see right through that, and they dont like it when an attempt to con them is made.

.....the hate of DLH went down to the very end when he picked on an unproven midget at the higher weight of Welterweight named Manny Pacquiao, instead of fighting a fighter fresh off of beating Cotto, in Antonio Margarito.

DLH was a fake from day one of his professional career, and he ended his career the same way......
    ......A FAKE!

Thats just DLH reeking the benefits of his fakeness.

People would have respected him alot more had he ended hos career fighting Margarito.

Probably a bit broad to just say that "Mexicans don't like De La Hoya".

Personality-wise I would agree that De La Hoya comes off as fake. In terms of fighting, he had genuine ability and fought the very best in the sport. So, respect to his fight-game and resume, but not to him as a person.
