saw on fightnews that mitchell is a favorite to win this. i saw a few rounds of mitchell vs presscot and didn't think much of him, but i heard he outboxed presscot. does mitchell have a chance? i thought katsidis looked damn good against escobedo. probably the best he's ever looked.

    Out-boxing Prescott isn't exactly a huge thing.

I see people bringing up that Prescott fight but Prescott is totally different to Katsidas.

First off he just straight up isnt as good...he is slower and more predictable, a rangy guy who telegraphs his punches..Kev could have sit down and had a cuppa with the time he had to avoid those shots.
Mick is more explosive and throws shorter, tighter hooks.

This is going to be a great fight..I think beating Mitchell at home will be a tall order, I rate them on fairly even terms but Mick's greater experience should see him get through.

Watch all of the prescott mitchell fight. Mitchell outboxes him compleltely, hits him with some hard shots, and also took a couple of shots, proving he has a chin.

Previous to this fight, he has been a bit of a slugger with a good KO ratio, so he can do it all. He has less experience, but he has a lot of talent, has never lost, and is fighting at home

I think Mitchell is still improving, he showed against Prescott he can box smart and stick to a gameplan. Katsidis is totally different, and you may see a different side to Mitchell.

The odds so far have MItchell odds on at 8/11 ... whilst Katsidis is 11/ 8

Those odds are insane. Katsidis has to be the favourite here...Mitchell boxed well to avoid any of Prescotts bombs but past history has shown that Kev has a bad habit of being drawn into wars, if he does that against MK there will only be one winner, and it won't be Kevin Mitchell

You gota remember that even though he eventually picked apart Graham Earl, Earl gave him a heap of problems. Earl had him out on his feet! If Earl can rock him Im sure Kev will. Kat has been in a few wars since and might start feeling wear and tear when a young, fresh, hungry fighter in Kev is in the opposite corner.

I would like to see Mitchel win, he done what he had to do against Prescot, who i don't think is even a good boxer,
Katsidis should be the favourite, those odds are probably given by a UK bookie

Mitchell is probably just the favorite for now because only the UK oddsmakers have a line on the fight yet. The US line will probably have Katsidis as the favorite, since nobody over here knows who Mitchell is. I remember Pac-Hatton had a pretty big disparity in lines between the two sides of the pond as well. People in the UK probably mostly remember Katsidis from the Earl fight, and he's not even the same fighter as that anymore.

I have a tough time picking this one. Mitchell's the smaller man, but his best bet is to try to outbox Katsidis from the outside. I think Katsidis would manhandle him inside. Also, Katsidis is such an on and off fighter himself. He looked good (until he got KTFOed) against Casamayor and in his last fight, but he really looked lethargic and pretty crap against Juan Diaz. So some of it will depend on which Katsidis shows up. I do think Mitchell is quicker and the better boxer though.

Mitchell looks great and moves well putting together a nice set of punches along the way....however Mitchell has NEVER been in the ring with a guy that hits like Katsidis.

Katsidis has improved quite alot over his past 4 fights....most notable are his movement on the way in and his defence.

I see Mitchell getting hit hard early...getting on his bike and boxing from the outside most of the fight however Katsidis will catch up with Mitchell late rounds and stop him.
