Degale - 'domestically, I'm already the best'

I doubt it. As long as DeGale can fight the neccessary rounds it would be easy work. The only way they win is if DeGale gasses, I wouldn't rely on that given his trainer.

 

However good he MAY be, he needs to fight and beat a better class of opponent before that statement can be taken seriously.

 

Im one of the few who hasnt jumped on the " lets hate James De Gale " bandwagon , although i dont blame anybody who has .

But when this lad starts to knock over some good fighters ill get on the lets support James De Gale bandwagon , until then im on the fence publicly when secretly i think he's ****in great , big mouth though .

I mean that ring entrance was nothing short of world class , i was LMOA for about 5 days !!!!

 

Hes the real deal, needs a new trainer. Someone who will discipline him verbally and technically

i am not saying the guy hasn't got talent, but the facts of the matter are that it is a lot of hear say about how good he is in ths division. Him winning wba inter **** belt or whatever it is tells us nothing about how he will perform when a belt with meaning is on the line, i.e. lonsdale, euro etc.
I just think it is a bit premature to be saying he would beat the best in the division right now when he hasn't faced anyone who will punch back and not cave when he starts slapping them.

He beat Nathan King easily, something McGuire Dodson and Anderson failed to do.

Super middle is week as fook domestically imo, Groves and De Gale are at this level on talent alone and will bypass it very quickly in the next year.

 

If there was a World title for 'Knob-Jockey' he would be the Undisputed champ.

 

Nobody knows how good Degale is, yeah hes on a different level than these bums he's fighting but every body pads their record early on and can look like a world beater .. Alex Arthur was always touted as a future world champion until he stepped up a level and got exposed as very limited ....

If Degale beats a class opponent then we can judge him, but considering he wont be in with a class opponent for probably another 4 years the jury must be out .. Im not convinced with him, he's ultra confident against these stiffs, he knows hes in no danger, he knows he can do what he wants with these postmen and welders .. Big deal, what happens when he has to show some brains on how to de-construct a quality opponent. He has an attitude problem and comes across as a complete moron. Degale is a product of modern boxing, fame and riches will come his way quickly through media manipulation of the public, but eventually he'll be wiped out by a fighter who has dedicated himself to the craft and who has struggled on his way up ..

Its not Degale's fault, Warren needs fraudulent 'stars' like him as he knows as well as we all do that Boxing is a dying sport. Warren needs to make money while he can ..

Boxing has never been in such a bad state, take out Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pac and no other fighter of today is fit to share the same ring with the champions of yesteryear .. The craft, the artistry, the trainers, the dedication to be a World Champion has evaporated, this sport is dying ..

It would have been an impossibility for Manny Pac to be successful in stepping up 7 weight divisions in any other era than the current one. Pac isnt on drugs, hes just a superior fighter than these overhyped 'name' opponents ..

Pac v Oscar - Oscar starves himself, hes got nothing
Pac v Hatton - Hatton cannot psychologically deal with mega-fights, too much nervous energy, too emotional, cant control himself
Pac v Cotto - Cotto is a much over-hyped fighter with very little heart, hes great when hes totally in control but put him under pressure for a few rounds and he'll fold like a pack of cards, he aint fit to stand alongside Wilfredo Gomez in the Puerto Rican pantheon of greats ..
Pac v Clottey - Clottey, tough but lacking skill, heart and any kind of verve, he'd be an 'opponent' for rising stars in past eras ..

Put Manny Pac in with Hearns, Duran, Benitez, Pryor, Leonard, Curry, Whitaker, Chavez, Quartey and a prime Mosley and he is toast !! Mayweather will dominate this guy with absolute ease, hes on a totally different level .. Mayweather is the only fighter of today that could be successful in a competitive era, and that is an indication of a dying sport ..

Getting back to Degale, any fan worth his salt knows that he is totally unproven .. If you want to see Super-Middleweight class, get some DVD's of Roy Jones's career at that weight, oh man, that guy was pure gold !!

 

I reckon the Klitschko brothers could live in any era and whos to say some of the fighters from '' back in the day '' could live in this era.

i don't think there are many people who doubt that degale has "talent" but having it and converting it into actual performances against opposition of similar levels is a different thing.
The point is to debate the title of this thread, i am the best domestically. You could maybe argue that point in terms of potential, but in terms of what we have seen so far, and who is ahead of him, it is laughable to say what he is saying.
It doesn't matter who he "might" beat.
i say put the gobshite in with quigley, as he will get taught a very quick lesson by him
