I think Steward joined Wlad's team right after the Corrie Sanders loss of 2003. I know for a fact, he was in his corner for the Brewster defeat.
He was there! How could you forget, He was the main one coaching & calming wlad down, He had a lot of anxiety during that fight (memories of corey sanders). I credit that win 100% to Steward, Had he not been in wlad's corner , after the first knockdown, wlad would've paniced and Peter would've scored the TKO. No doubt. You're right magoo, he came on after the Sanders loss. After the Brewster loss many felt Wlad was done. Steward stuck with him.
Steward took over the very next fight after corrie sanders loss and it was against fabio something from argentina or something like that.
Kind of a bad first outing for being the man who was supposed to turn his career around.. In all seriousness though, it was a good move.. Wlad has definitely improved, and had he applied some of the tactics that he's used in his later fights, might very well have escaped the jaws of defeat against Sanders... While Corrie deserves a lot of credit for that win, Wlad fought stupid that night, and that's about all there is to it...
Sdunek was the conditoning!!!! coach and unfortunaly he was in the corner during the fight! After this fight Wlad fired him. Thanks god.
indeed... it's funny to hear WK claim that everything went as planned ('perfect') until the fourth/fifth round. WK did everything he wanted and could...only bad that the other guy was still standing! :rofl
I agree completely. Wlad looked in alot of trouble against a hungry and vicious Sam Peter. Steward was a big help to assure Wlad everything was alright and Peter is there to be hit. As you said, if it wasn't for Steward I believe Wlad would of suffered another knockout defeat.
