Judah was clipped by a guy who he underestimated. Morales was shot after a Barerra 3 times and a winning effort over Manny. Judah was the lineal champ at the weight Morales was not.

I go to floyd by a tiny margin I think they are similar in accomplishment but if I had to pick it would be floyd over judah

Btw Morales was real lucky Raheem was not a big puncher if not he would have been KTFO.

I'm not saying Raheem would for sure beat a prime Morales. Just saying it wouldn't be an easy night for Morales and he had a chance.

Morales easily. Judah had just lost to a guy he should have beaten, like Morales. The difference is Morales fought a guy who had every edge stylistically, whereas Judah fought a guy perfect for him and still lost.

Judah was never close to as good as Morales either.

I think Morales is a greater fighter than Judah, but at the time of each of their respective fights, Judah was the fresher of the two. Morales was starting to fade. He was still a very good fighter but slid enough to be on Judah like level which considering Zab's talent isn't necessarily bad.

I think we all know the Baldomir fight was more about Zab losing it than Carlos winning it. You don't have to be a Judah apologist to acknowledge that it was a Lewis-Rahman type scenario. Zab was not focused for that fight. It was pretty clear. The Tszyu fight however I give KT more credit than I do Floyd despite those who may argue the stoppage.

Floyd figured him out. Judah was sharp, focused and fought gamely those first 4-5 rounds. Floyd simply adjusted midway and stepped up the pressure. Floyd won this fight more than Judah lost it. All credit goes to him.

No one said that Morales wasn't a great fighter. We know that, at least I know that. But it doesn't mean that you should undermine Zab Judah to prove your point. Zab is a very talented fighter who will always put you up to task.

Watching tapes will only get you so far.

Depends on what criteria you use.

In terms of historical relevance, obviously Pac's victory over Morales the second time around is greater. The result was also far more comprehensive, and that has to be taken into consideration. Stopping an all time great (even one who was on the slide) for the first time in his career is not an accomplishment to be taken lightly.

    But...

I think the fight with Judah told us more about what Floyd is capable of doing when faced with adversity than Pac's victory over Morales. We knew pretty much the same about Pac after the Morales fight as he did prior to that point (fast hands, hit damned hard, was capable of fighting hard for a full twelve rounds and could grind down an opponent with pressure- especially if that foe was on the slide). In the case of Judah, we learned that when faced with a fighter who possessed a troublesome style, he was capable of making adjustments and using a style different from the one he normally employed to grind his foe down. Pac made more adjustments, and showed greater versatility in later fights...But we knew a bit more about what Floyd could do in the ring as a result of his fight with Judah.

So that makes it closer than one might think.

I'll say Pac's victory, but the victory over Judah isn't something that should be diminished, by any stretch of the imagination.

For the people that say Morales had nothing left watch the first 5 rounds of the 2nd Pacquiao fight. He was embarrassing Pac. That is one of Pacquiao's greatest wins.
