He's been denied a licence in Texas, and reports are that he applied in California as well and was denied.

My question to the forum....why do you think that the state of California did not press charges on either Margarito or his trainer Capetillo????

This has really been a baffling and confusing thing for me.
If they had Margarito and Capetillo dead to rights with the wraps, why in hell did the state of California not prosecute them????

I say with Margarito not being prosecuted, he's served his one year suspension for a crime his trainer commited.
The eyewitness accounts of the inspectors on hand at the wrapping session spoke that it looked like to them that Margarito was clueless to his wraps being loaded.....

......then Mosley himself had said previously that the knucklepad felt normal to him.

Clearly this is a case where the evidence of Margarito knowing his wraps were loaded is'nt clear cut.

I say give the man his license, and if he's been guilty all along of cheating, he's going to get his ass handed to him in the ring now that he wont have the benefit of the loaded wraps.

What better punishment than that for a cheater than to have Cintron and Cotto have cracks at him without Margarito's hands being loaded.

If there is a price to pay for Margarito, he surely is going to pay it in the ring.

They didn't press charges because he was caught before the fight. There is no real proof that he ever fought with loaded gloves.

Regarding your comment that he served his one suspension. He was suspended for at least one year. That pretty much means indefintely.

The prosecutor tried to give him jail time and injected evidence from a previous fight against Cotto...however, the judge didn't allow it and he
ended up with a mitigated penalty.
Which in the long run could prove to be just as damaging to his boxing carreer.
    Cheating ******* !!!!!!

**** Margarito. I want him to get licensed when he's 49 so he can have his brain bounced around by some young bucks for peanuts.

No people will try to make an example out of him. If he knows about it the best thing he can do is come clean and admit it. Guilt stalks you like a psychopathic ex-girlfriend who's obsessed with you.

I'll answer the question this way.........

Tony Margarito was suspended for a year because it was SUSPECTED his trainer tried to load his gloves. NOTHING remotely dangerous was discovered in those wraps however.

The CSAC are the only state commission who have been BANNED from holding amateur boxing tournaments in the state. The reason?? CORRUPTION!! They could not provide unbiased & honest officials to run the tournaments.

Now just think for a minute Which of the two parties seem the most trustworthy???
Give Margarito back his licence & fire the WHOLE CSAC

The reason they did not press charges is because there was not enough evidence to support their claim they found trace elements, not a cake like substance as was claimed early on.

had they actually found plaster paris for sure even though he got caught before you could prove intent, it could be considered attempted man slaughter or attempted assault with a deadly weapon.

They did not press charges becuase they did not have enough evidence to prove it was plaster paris.
