Thanks for the honest response ref the Commonwealth title mate , But i still live in hope that talented blokes like Choc will restore it to its former glory sooner rather than later , (You tough Aussie *******s fighting for it would help ) :deal
,Btw i knew Jones was a tough guy when he beat my mate Billy Waith and another old mate of mine Horace Mac , i thought he edged out Milton Mc in their first fight for THE world title but admit he lost the rematch prior to getting cut to ribbons v the fantastic DON CURRY .
You were fighting in tough times in regard to World honours .

 

Totally agree Josey. The Commonwealth title used to be held in such high regard, would be great to see it get back to becoming more meaningful again.

 

I remember the fight in 1991 with Manning Galloway for WBO title, I won'ted to go, but I was 14 and my father said I would not be let in the front door. I was doing amatuer boxing then, In the late 80s, You had a bit to do with south tweed rugby league club, I went to a heap of games for years, my old man had a bit to do with them for years and you where at alot of games.

No i ain't seen him fight yet Ash i just read about him a few times however this is what i'm saying regarding the Commonwealth title , we all know former WBO Cruiser champ Enzo Macc is on the comeback trail and a Commonwealth title fight would be useful to have as part of said comeback , Vea v Macca would be an tidy bout imo , this title could be used as a route through to a tilt at world honours for both lads imo . A strong Commowealth champ was always in with a shout of winning THE world title back in the day .

 

So many fine fighters fought for it in the past mate it pains me to see that it has fallen below the level of the Inter continental trinket bollocks . ok as Bally said its all about politics these days but still i'm a tad ****ed off by its fall in world standings .
