Josey its Rob Norton mate...... "Purse bids for the promotion of Rob Norton's next Commonwealth cruiserweight title defence against Australia's Dominic Vea have been won by the challengers. Core Street Promotions intend to stage the match at Blacktown RSL Club in New South Wales on May 8th. The Stourbridge man - who is also the British champ - will be on about 50p a mile. The winning purse bid was £20,001."
Norton is a solid citizen mate this will make for a decent scrap and the Commonwealth will add extra spice to the event . see its smallish steps like this that will lead to its rebirth as a coverted title imo . gotta run Ash i'm late for work now talking to you tossers .... :good
Take a look Josey.....by the way he's sparring Danny Green :good [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_IdR93htik&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOrLWzfv3Zg&feature=related[/ame]
I went one night with Tony Mundine to Blacktown RSL to watch him fight Victor Attivor. He was the commonwealth champion from Ghana. Tony boxed around the first round not doing much. When he came back to the corner everybody was yelling instructions. Tony took a drink and said I will knock him out this round. It was all over a minute later. Blacktown RSL was the place for all the big fights then. I fought there many times in the 70s.
It's a real pity the Commonwealth titles have lost their prestige. They were a great springboard to bigger things and gave us some monumental fights over the decades
Hey Flash, Sorry mate but it was Dave Boy Green who fought Ray Leonard. Not Colin Jones. Jones fought Milt Mc Crory twice and Don Curry. You were at one of the Mc Crory fights in Vegas 100 degree heat. We spoke about that fight a while back, you must be losing it. Tell us, I've often said you would have whipped the likes of Ricky Hatton. How do you reckon you'd have faired against todays top 10 stoners?
Leichhardt yes you were right it was milton mcCory. His brother fought Jeff in Sydney. Marcus its a shame you live in Tassie. You missed watching a great rugby league team play tonight. When you watched Danny Green did you notice how robotic he is? I think the guys training him at Parramatta are working on him playing in the forwards later this season. I dont think he can outbox Choc but I think he could give it a real shake in an arm wrestle. Did anyone else notice it or was it just me?
Its never a shame living in tassie mate. :bart Im a big sharks fan mate. I enjoy league but follow AFL more. I dont really understand the robotic term to be honest. Many people on this website say the same about Pavlik. Do you mean he fights stiff and too upright?
If Danny was that stiff sparring me I would be worried about him. Since he fought Choc he has really bulked up. I think the 14kg he has put on since his fight with choc has made him stronger but a lot slower. Hes also stiffer than I was this morning.
I dont talk about your boy sorry Jeff. He gets enough attention from other posters without me joining in. Green is a powerful guy with a sharp jab, yes you can see his hooks coming from a mile off but i still think he is a world class fighter.
Marcus I am talking about Danny Green. Hes not my boy. The guys who have worked with him have done a great job with the Parramatta rugby league team but to have a boxer bulking up like Green is now has really taken what speed hes had away. And yes you can see his hooks coming. I think its a good idea fighting that middleweight.
Forgive me but you talked about choc twice , danny once and you **** once. Im saying choc is your boy, as in, your on his team. And i dont talk about him....oh, ****...wait a second atsch Danny is fighting a middle is he? So if you have 21 fights at 168 and above and 1 fight (his most recent) at 160. You consider him a middle weight? .....................ok
