If they were to fight how would it play out? I think Mir submits him. I know I'm going to catch **** but Frank has some of the best jujitsu mma has ever seen. Frank submission in 2.

Umm, no. Definitely no submission unless he does some real damage beforehand.

Fedor smashes him from Mir's halfguard. Id like to see the fight though Frank is well rounded and has a good resume. One of the best that Fedor has yet to fight.

Watch his fight against Ian Freeman.

Mir is a poor man's Fedor. Similar style and skill sets.
He is bigger, but slower, less explosive, less technically gifted and much less experienced

I would favor Fedor in part because I believe that everything that Mir does very well Fedor does just a little bit better. This is why I was really hoping we would be watching Fedor in the UFC by this time. Mir, Lesnar, Carwin, Dos Santos, Velasquez are all very stern challengers to the Russian superman.

I don't think Frank Mir is even a top five heavyweight submission artist.

I'd rank Fabricio Werdum, Big Nog, Gabriel Gonzaga, Fedor and Aleksander Emelianenko, Josh Barnett and Jeff Monson all ahead of him in terms of pure grappling ability.

He wouldn't be able to defeat Fedor with a submission unless he could rock him and put him on the deck with strikes first. That's how he defeated Roberto Traven, the only great grappler he has submitted in MMA competition.

But I don't think he is capable of doing that to Fedor.

Agreed the guys mentioned are more complete Jiujitsu fighters. Frank does have dynamic submissions though he can catch you very quickly with any type of move which will always make him extremly dangerous on the ground. Id honestly rank him above Aleksander or Monson though.

Use the Lesnar rematch as an example but dont use the Freeman fight man. Its like saying Edgar will beat Penn because Jens Pulver outboxed BJ 8 years ago. Freeman was what in 2002 ? Frank is different in a million ways from then. The guy is married with several children now, is a commentator, a Blackbelt in BJJ now, a multiple time belt holder, had his leg broken, battled drug and alcohol problems, totally revamped his training camp and even his fighting style etc.

Absolutely. UFC's heavyweight division right now is great. The pretty much have everyone with exceptions of 2-3 names.

I think everyone of those would be a great match for Fedor.

The winner of this potential Mir/Carwin-Lesnar and JDS-Cain tournament vs Fedor would be probably the most anticapated fight in history. Whoever comes out the last man standing in what the UFC has going on right now will have every right to be called a legend and one of the greatest of all time and a legit threat to Fedor then actually stick Fedor in the cage yeah people will be creaming there pants before the fight starts.

:lol::lol::lol: Awesome post. Id love to see Fedor fight Mir. That would be worse than the beating he copped vs Lesnar in their second bout. Thats a surefire hiding to nothing.
