Dan is not credible especially when its known he hates the Mayweather clan, they most have stole his lunch money ...:rofl. Its kind of like Rush or Glen saying Obama hates America, no credibility in Dan's opinion. The numbers were decent not great.
I don't think I'd ever overly concern myself with how many PPV buys my favorite fighter was responsible for.
spot, watch the *****s panic now, get in a pac and launch the typical ******* comments to hide the truth...oh wait its already happened lfc
After Bert Sugar, Manny Steward, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, etc., Dan Rafael followed suit to become a *******. Quite fashionable these days.
way to state the obvious fat ****..... but comparing floyd vs baldomire and zab is ridicoulus.... if floyd fought Zab and Baldomire NOW, hed do 700 buys...maybe a little less. back then, floyd wasnt at his popularity peak yet, not even close...he didnt have 24/7 and all this promotion for those fights either....no "road to dallas" none of that so wtf is he talking about comparing the pacquiao of now to the floyd of back then....
those numbers are decent but if floyd was fighting clottey a couple things wouldve happened that would make the fight sell more than 700k 1) Clottey would be built up to be Floyds toughest challenge yet. and Floyd losing would be marketed as a real possibility because Clottey "never" truly loss a championship fight, he just "had some bad breaks, but he is possibly the toughest welter out there".... 2) there would've been a 24/7 3)when Floyd is fighting, haters pay to see him lose and fans pay to see him dominate (unlike pac haters who i could guess won't pay for his fights hoping to see him lose, they just dont pay)
Now it really doesnt matter who floyd fights because he's almost guaranteed to do at least 1 million because of his fan base(which includes the fans and haters because they are either payin to see him win or lose which is puttin money in his pockets).
1 mil easy his gates do 40 mil and his ppv's do hundreds of millions. Pac can't compete with floyd. pac is the poor man's money may.
not only did the fight happening in Dallas increase the gate, but i'm pretty certain it help the buy rate in some measure. Probably not a big difference, but there were definitely people who bought the fight to see a boxing card at that stadium on television.
I lost a ton of respect for Dan Rafael after he backed out of his bet that he'd shave his head if Mayweather-Marquez sold 1 million buys. I've tried to ask him about it in his chat, but shockingly, he doesn't post my questions.
On one hand you can say they only had 2 months to prepare for the fight itself, but Pacquaio had just gotten a tremendous amount of press for the entire Mayweather debacle and his name was EVERYWHERE so that in itself is alot of promotion.
