Respected newspaper Meridiano in Venezuela has printed a news report saying that Edwin Valero, the undefeated world champion boxer, is under investigation regarding a wicked beating of his wife, Jennifer Carolina. News agency EFE and boxing site Notifight are also reporting similar details which state that the wife is being treated for a collapsed lung and multiple bruises at University Hospital in Los Andes. More details as they roll in on this story... BREAKING NEWS: I just spoke to promoter Bob Arum. "We don't know what the situation is, really," Arum said from Las Vegas. "We have someone who is very reliable monitoring the situation for us in Venezuela. "I have not spoken to the fighter but I am told he has not been arrested. "It could turn out to be what some are saying but, right now, we think this may be an inaccurate report. I mean, you don't really know until you know!" Arum added that he has no official word from police or other legal authorities in Venezuela on the matter.
