I just gave you some props on another thread, but now you look stupid. What the **** did Sergio Martinez ever do to merrit any comparison to Hopkins?

even when he as his most fresh, martinez is vulnerable. martinez will lunge in face first w/ his straight left hand...maybe land it a few times...and will eventually get caught doing it.

In my opinion sergio's two best weapons are the very things that will get him in trouble. When he rushes in with the straight left he's right in line for the 1-2. When he throws his right hook, he leaves the entire left side of his head wide open.

If only Kelly had a decent jab and a reach advantage he might be able to do something about that...... :think

jsimps reports kelly is snapping the mitts like he never has. in good times and bad you never really get a whole lot outta the camp...can't really get a feel for what the atmosphere is. they keep the cards pretty close to the vest.

but from what i've been able to gather...the left is fine, and kelly is in the best shape in quite some time, including the strongest he's been. martinez seems like a decent guy. can't say anything bad about him. but he is going to get sparked stone motherless cold and everyone will remember who kelly is. they will still hate him, but they'll remember who he is.

If KP comes in as strong as he was for the Miranda fight, and fully prepared to box 12 rounds like he did in the 2nd Taylor fight, Martinez is just going to take a god-awful ass whoopin':yep

and to sergio's credit...this is a no lose situation for him. he wins...well nevermind because he aint :D and if he loses he still has his strap and still has another big money fight in a rematch with paul at jmw.

on a side note...he's not getting stripped for this fight right? i know there was some talk of that on here but i never saw anything confirming that.

I've been thinking about that. You have two WBC title holders fighting, so it doesn't make sense. You would think the WBC would give an exemption on that.

I haven't read anything about Martinez losing the 154 pound title. Before the fight was finalized he said he would not give it up, so the WBC must have signed off on this, or the fight would not happen.

I guess Pdub/Cintron won't be for a belt. Well, the WBC may come up with something. Let's see, milk carton belt? :huh That would give new meaning to 'paper champ'. :think I'm just not feeling this one...... help me out...

It's called sarcasm.... you mentioned no one could come up with anything besides---speed, angles and Hopkins....

    so...I proved your point....

Okay -- guess my sarcasm detector needs a tune-up. It's just that Martinez/Hopkins comparisons keeping popping up, and they just do not make any sense at all.

One big difference....besides size and strength and ring IQ....is that Bernard is great at defense....Martinez is not .he will be punched and punched hard in the face.....and he has never been hit with the thuds Pav is going to bring...
