I am an avid reader of Boxing News but their list of the best 10 super middle weights is absolutely shocking

Looks a very bizarre list unless I've missed something..

    1. Calzaghe
    2. RJJ
    3. Benn
    4. Eubank
    5. Toney
    6. Ottke
    7. Collins
    8. Nunn
    9. Chong-Pal Park
    10. Sugar boy Malinga

    Thoughts?

The daft thing is that Calzaghe would lose to about half of those H2H

it realy is criminal that they have a valid argument for putting joe at number 1

yet i think - rjj toney benn eubank(prime) definatly beat him imo and a couple outhers run him close

    Nunn:good

Benn would be the "iffy" one IMHO.

It may be my interpretation of what constitues the best ever fighters to perform in the super middleweight division, but where is Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns even Arthur Abraham would be well matched against Benn, Eubank, Collins.

Although, perhaps they are going for greatest smw resume? Then why is RJJ at number 2 didnt he fight only 7 fights or something at that weight?

I think Eubank would be as well.

Maybe Collins.... who was hard as ****, albeit limited.

I don't think Calzaghe pre-hand trouble hit hard enough to discourage Benn, who's chin is better than his 5 (4) losses would indicate..... plus Joe ate right hands for breakfast. If the likes of Mitchell and Salem (I think) could stick him on his arse Benn certainly would, for the full count :hey

Record at the weight will count for a lot I'd guess, such as Parks rating (and JCs #1).

It will be a combination of both their record and H2H, possibly focusing on their records more so than the H2H ability. Thus, SRL and Hearn's shouldn't be anywhere near the top 10 IMO :good
