look it is well documented that each of these fighters went out of their way not to fight floyd.. Well documented!!! Now that floyd is the golden goose everyone wants their shot, but at the time floyd was too big of a risk and no reward.. Arum and Papa Hatton went out their way to keep floyd from fighting hatton and cotto.. All Mayweather's moves are business calculated moves. Most fans don't look at boxing as a business so we focus on this fighter fought this guy or didn't fight this guy because he was scared or it was easier. Its funny how since NOW Mayweather is fighting Mosley NOW people claim business move as it goes against there more popular view of Mayweather being scared.

By fighting Marquez Mayweather could then compare the money Marquez and Mayweather did vs the money that Pacman and Marquez and ask for the lions share as a bigger draw. Plus Marquez was rated as the number 2 P4P . Why didn't Pacman wait and target Mayweather rather then go right after Cotto. Thats because Arum new they would make big money vs Cotto which would allow them a lot of negotiation power vs Mayweather.

Mayweather is now fighting Mosley to gain more negotiation power in future Pacman-Mayweather talks. If Mayweather felt that Mosley was a better business move then Marquez at the time then he would have fought Mosley at that time. I am sure there are less opponents to fight then Mosley at this time so why isn't Mayweather fighting Malinagi or Nate Campbell or Bobby Hatton
