No way will Mundine fight Golovkin for the WBA title. Golovkin looks very good and would beat Mundine imo. I await to here excuses from the Mundine camp as to why this fight won't happen.

Wasn't Golovkin at logger heads with his promoters also ? Apparently he was claiming to be a free agent as well , I can't see this fight EVER getting off the ground either.

Yes Josey I heard the same thing. Now that Sturm has been made a Super Champion its going to be interesting who the WBA sanctions for the vacant title. Like you stated Golovkin has fallen out with his promoters so I wonder who they will allow to fight for the title. Maybe thats why its taking so long for Khoder to announce anything. Or maybe they are looking at something else with the WBA.

Balmain , This Super Champion / Regular Champion bollocks has to stop . just imagine if each of the top 4 recognised ABC bodies introduced such a thing in order to secure more sanctioning fees , we would be up to our arse in "World Champions" .....

Yes, but the reason these pathetic titles were created - greed - will stop that from ever happening Josey

Smutt you are 100% spot on. Today you can be either Super Champion, Champion or Interim Champion. Everybody gets a belt. And dont forget the old favourite Champ in Recess. But honestly I would not of blown up if I got one.

agree.and it allows people like Green and Mundine to claim they have won as many titles as Tszyu and Fenech and compare themselves to them.the belts are getting meaningless these days.

Agree Stifler, but I think it's fair to say that no one seriously takes Danny's and Mundine's claim's or inference to Kostya or Jeff seriously.

Not one Aussie boxer (current era), expect Vic can remotely compare themselves even closely to Jeff and Kostya's achievments or standing in world boxing.

That'd be the same as the sanctioning of bouts such as Green vs Siaca.

That seriously can't be considered legitimate but the sanctioning fees are greed, oop's I mean appropriate and well received by the IBO for a bout of that quality and standing!

I also now see the WBC are going to be changing the name of their interim titles to 'silver' titles to lessen the confusion!

True, but the problem is that the casual fan and the layman do take it seriously.
