i believe small won this fight in scrappy fashion.

what concerns me is that anthony small does not seem to be improving in his current camp/trainers. he's getting worse
i remember he used to look good/better when he turned pro, and was improving with each fight. maybe cos he had more experienced/superior trainers compared to his current bunch. these guys messed up danny williams style. its like they are copying the toney/mayweather style without the concepts or why's of the techniques.

i understand he's a muslim and he's sticking together with his brothers but he needs to choose weather he wants to stay at domestic level (remain in the same camp) or go on to bigger and better things (go train with a better coach)

i dont know the people who train him but they also work with danny williams. they try and emulate the mayweather style but look aweful doing it. their boxers are seriously flawed.
just watch smalls footwork and overall movemnt...its like watching a man made out of cement dance. he fights badly going backwards, looks to stiff, too wide a stance and isnt evening jabbing properly. then when he comes forward its even worse!

the other thing, small has an aweful offense. he VERY RARELY throws combos, instead relying on one punch shots where he leaps ala roy jones.
he just doesnt let the shots flow or he is too close to throw but still tries punching away instead of creating some room or pivoting around the guy to make space/angles...
i wonder if he ever does padwork cos as far as his punches go, he just doesnt understand distance and timing

imo anthony small is very talented and with the right people he has all the tools to go all the way. adam booth or the other fella who trains ian napa would be great trainers for him.

small should have stopped webb but due to lack of tools, couldnt

Some of the early and mid rounds were close. Some Small won just about, mostly he danced and pranced. Some rounds Webb won clearly. Fair result, could have gone either way. Entertaining after the cut. Good job again by the cuts man Williamson.

Exactly, could have gone either way. It was a tough fight to score and if Small had been the one with his hand raised at the end I wouldn't have been surprised.

I don't think and never have thought that Small is especially talented, I just think he's super awkward. I don't think he's under achieved at all to be fair, actually I think he's done pretty well with what he's got

good post, interesting read. the bold part is true, what they dont realise is flashy smooth boxers know how to box properly but adapt and change to the style they become. this mayweather shoulder roll thing has guys confused - its like going from point A to D without going through B and C

    hi mate

i dont understand why people dislike this guy soo much, weather its cos he's muslim or cos he talks more than your average boxer?.. or both of the above?

i noticed how the press were speaking to small during the hall-small presser, tyson would have torn em a new 1.

i want anthony small to do well, i hope this loss is a blessing for him

As for the thread i thought the fight was close but i thought Small was the winner.

Webb was to conservative in the early rounds and only come to life after the cut. But a great fight and completed the 12 rounds with relative ease for the first time.

Small fought well in patches and i thought he was on the verge of stopping Webb around the 7/8 round mark.

What was disturbing was Smalls liack of stamina and the fact that Webb stung him on a few occasions, if you are going past British level then guys with Webb's power should not be hurting you.

On a seperate note iam i the only person who thinks Jim Watt is a depressing commentator , who is continuously contradicting himself, really ****ing off as of late.
