Castillo beat the 3 best lightweights of his era not named Floyd. He was the best lightweight of his era in terms of talent not including Floyd and Mosley. He was an A level fighter at 135.

He was the best in what was a poor division, but in all honesty whilst he was a very good fighter he was not elite in my opinion. I don't really see any argument for him being a genuine elite fighter.

Castillo lost to corrales, then couldn't make weight in the rematch and knocked out a drained corrales.

He had a draw and a majority decision against stevie johnston.

The first fight was basically castillo selling his title to floyd, and it ended up going from sale to robbery.
