Merchant doesn't like Hopkins or Mayweather. He doesn't really even try to hide it. Just watch his postfight interview with Pacquiao after the first Morales fight and then watch it for the Mayweather/Castillo fight. He actually serves up an excuse for Pacquiao about the gloves, and seems totally dismissive of Mayweather's injured shoulder. No what has more of an affect on how you perform, a bum shoulder or the brand of gloves you're wearing? In pretty every postfight interview he does with Hopkins or Mayweather, he always has some smart ass remark even if they totally outclass their opponent.

I give the edge to Taylor by decision due to his handspeed, workrate, accuracy, and his willingness to take one to give one which leads me to believe he would be offensive enough and keep Floyd on the defensive enogh to rack up rounds and win the fight.
