How about before finding fault with every group of 5, you list your own top list.

Any list is subjective but to come here and throw out comments like 'so and so is too high/low' without any explanation doesn't really lend you any credibilty.

Tito should not be higher than Hoya resume wise and also in their matchup we really know who won that one. Although i rate Tito in probably my top 65 he isnt higher than Lopez,ODlh,Pryor,Tyson.
Marciano too low you realize he was only 185 lbs and probably the greatest Heavy to weigh under 200. Joe Louis was 200 so i didnt include him.

I wouldnt put Benvenuti in the company of Fullmer,Fraizer,LEwis etc and i certainly wouldnt put him above some of the other guys i mentioned earlier. I mean to have Benvenuti over Gavilan is mind boggling:nut

I did give him props for making a list i know its extremely difficult, i have an idea of where i would place certain fighters, but like i said earlier its difficult. Ok i just cant throw out a list of the top of my head but i can give you a rough estimate of each fighter. By the way i do have credibility, this is just the first day ive posted on the Aussie forum. Not trying to sound like a dick just giving my opinion,i dont mind when people disagree with me so hopefully he doesnt either. Thats what forums are for.

Why do you have Jersey joe higher than Marciano?
Id also rate Napoloes a lot highter maybe top 30, and id rank Morales and Barrera ahead of Lennox Lewis thats for sure.

What are you crapping on about??? I'd rate Tommy Burns, Fitz, Tunney, Schmeling, Charles.... most bloody heavyweights with a deep resume ove Marciano... Undefeated usually mean not enough tests or around at the right time. Marciano was both. Getting knocked down by elderly fighters and a H/W Title defence list that stinks of urine and sweat from an old peolpe's weight loss centre... Undefeated means nothing when you're fighting ghosts.

You got some valid points and i somewhat agree with you when it comes to ranking him as a heavyweight, but PFP u have to rank him high at only 5-10 185 lbs he was sure kicking some ass. Jersey Joe might have been old but he was better then than he was when he was young.
And your crazy to rank Tommy Burns,Max Schmeling over Marciano. I can see putting Fitz or Tunney higher on PFP ATG greatness but HTH id pick Marciano over those 2.

I think he has a point though. Marciano beat Jersey Joe Walcott, and he weighed less than him! Joe was old but was in his first and only world title reign, so he must hve been close to prime. He also beat Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore (both at about the same weight of his). The JOe Louis win, obviously means little, but he does have three wins over top 20 p 4 p all time greats. plus a win over Joe Walcott who is probably a top 100 all time great. That alone, is very impressive and gives him an advantage over most other fighters.

Marciano is underated on a pound for pound basis.

By the way I better double check that he was ranked behind Jersey Joe Walcott and not Barbados Joe Walcott. Because if it was, it would be the second time I fell for that trick this Week!:patsch

No way Oscar fought better fighters and contrary to popular belief he beat some very good fighters too. A list of Tito and Oscar victims

    Oscars hit list
    Paez ko 2
    Molina w 12
    Ruelas ko 2
    Chicanito ko 5
    Leija ko 2
Chavez ko 4 and tko 8 Chavez no longer great but still very good
    Gonzalez w 12
    Whittaker w 12
    Camacho w 12
    Rivera ko 8
    Quartey w 12
    Carr ko 10
Mosley L 12 (very close) L 12 but he deserved the second one
    Coley ko ??
    Gatti Ko 5
Tito Robbed in this fight!!! Dont consider this a loss:nono
Castallejo W 12 good win for his 5th title in 5 weight classses
    Vargas Ko 10
    Yori Boy ko 8
Sturm probably his only underserving win.

Ok he was only decesively ever beaten in his last fight agains Pac(when Oscar was a zombie) and to the much bigger Hopkins. 6 weight classes beyond where Oscar started at. Now lets look at TItos.

    Titos hit list
    Blocker ko 1
    Garcia ko 1
    Camacho w 12
    Yori Boy ko4
    Carr ko 8
    Pendelton ko???
    Whittaker w 12
    Reid w 12
    Vargas ko 12
    Joppy ko 5
    Mayorga ko 8

Ok impressive list but not near as long as Oscars list and also remember that Tito was dominated in all his losses. Oscar only once when he was obviously not himself. TIto was dominated by Hopkins,Jones and Winky and Oscar !!

As already stated, both Tyson and Pryor's resumes are not strong enough to rate them higher.

I couldn't see Oscar breaking into the top 30 of anyone's list, even if he was armed with a crowbar.
