Ok dirrell didnt impress me because i knew he was capable of outspeeding abraham and good job for catching him off balance and flooring him. HOWEVER he headbutted abraham to cut him, hugged and held like in the froch fight and was getting helped by the ref at every chance! Abraham knocked him down and also had him in trouble on the ropes and what does the ref do? jump in and save him! Abraham knocks him down again and admittedly hit him when he was down im not making any excuses for him he was in the wrong and at worst should have had a point deducted but Direll put on an oscar winning performance and spazzed out! I swear hed be better suited to playing a role of a crashing patient in ER! If the fight had continued garanteed he would have been KOD. This guys completely lacks chin and heart and to be honest he has lost all respect from me. Abraham got frustrated yes and im not biased in anyway but he was obviously acting, look at the delayed response! Direll is lucky hes going up against ward next and not kessler as judging by how kessler took on calzaghe he would have knocked him clean out! ( not counting wards win as that was a ****ing disgrace of a fight too, ****ing blind biased refereeing ) I hold no grudges im welsh and scored the froch fight 115-113 if i remember to the cobra and dude i hate that guy so much! (froch) but for ****s sake abraham deserved more than that
The same people talking about what a monsterous puncher AA is are now claiming his free shot wasn't enough to KO a defenseless Dirrell? Please.......
I think Dirrell deserved to win, and the DQ was justified....However, Andre had enough time to scream "dawg" a million times to his "homies" afterwards, makes me think it was a bit of an act....He looked hurt the last round, got cleanly knocked down(wasn't called)....and Andre looked for a way to run out the clock...He knew the rules, AA didn't...
I didn't really care who won, so i have no dog in this fight. 1. Dirrell fought a great fight. Punch and run, especially against a hard puncher like Abraham. 2. Abraham slow starts got to him this time. He will continue to lose against African-American fighters who have the knack for punching and running (see Mayweather), which can make for boring fights at times, but a win is a win. That is why they call it the sweet science. 3. The knockdown by Dirrell on Abraham was more a Abraham lost his balance and a punch at the right time. 4. Bull**** by Abraham to have thrown that punch, I believe he was frustrated. 5. I thought right away that Dirrell was kind of bullshitting his "seizure" because he seemed just fine immediately after the punch, but Abraham should and was rightfully disqualified.
Cole, and Jay Nady are the two worst refs in boxing today. I can't figure out how or why they keep gettin' any fights, let alone Championship fights.
This is the real problem in this fight!!!: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214589
Oh ****ING please, don't hide behind a veil of objectivity, mr United Kingdom -- no surprise you're bagging on Dirrell here. The clash of heads was nowhere near intentional (have you ever watched a southpaw and an orthodox fighter clash before?), Dirrell himself was robbed of a knockdown, and Abraham was being a flat out ***** about the bodyshots. Dirrell took him to school tonight.
Was that Dirrell tripping over himself again as he was running? He may have won and he outboxed AA fair and sqaure and he has skills but he is precisely the type of fighter I can't stand. I just hope he gets KOed brutally I really do. Dirrell may be a slickster but AA is a man. You can decide what you prefer. Where the hell are the black fighters that fight like warriors like Holyfield, Tyson, Hearns or Hagler used to do? Where are these guys? Why they all gotta be these safety first slickster runner types, always on the freaking back foot? Are they that scared of engaging, jeez. Hagler. . .now that's an afro-american with balls but these PBF, Dirrell types jeez.
No he wasn't. Dirrell was comfortably moving away from AA's looping punches in that round, making him miss while tagging his guard and body just like he did practically the entire fight. Wishing for a miracle KO when the fight suggested otherwise is just plain foolish.
It looked like an act to me. There was the delayed reaction, then when he goes 'unconscious' he retains muscle control of his arms and puts them to his face and keeps them there. He was also able while unconscious to slide under the ropes and effectively end the fight. Plus there was the curious business of the 'spasm' in the leg. Normally when you see something so terrible the boxer is on his way to the hospital with a serious brain injury. Thank goodness Dirrel isn't hurt, but what a shame that he's such a *****. He's lucky there wasn't a riot. Meanwhile he's got great skills and showed that Abraham is a one-dimensional tough guy.
