Referee Laurence Cole Is Awful

The non call of the Direll KD in the later rounds was so bad.

 

He missed an obvious knockdown and I didn't like the way he broke the action when Abraham had his arm extended (Dirrell had done the same without consequence). He made the correct decision in the end. Regardless of just how theatrical the ending was or whether you think Dirrell was out cold, he had to DQ Abraham.

 

The breaking up the corner action because Abraham was pawing was beyond unnecessary. He sucks, I knew it based on his Texas fights. Just a bad ref.

 

He's a corrupt ****wit and should be banned from boxing. He is beyond disgraceful. Slimy ****.

 

Between the uncalled low blows, allowing Andre to push off, the missed knockdown, the bull**** warning on Arthur for pawing, stopping the fight to have Abraham's cut examined arbitrarily (giving Dirrell a good 2-3 minutes to rest), and not even reacting to the 2nd Dirrell knockdown/slip (which lead to the Abraham DQ) until well after Arthur landed the late shot, this was some of the worst reffing I've ever seen. Not Reid-Ottke bad, but still uncalled for in a fight of this caliber.

All that kind of officiating does is cheapen a very good performance by Dirrell. It's a damn shame we didn't get to see how the last 5 minutes were going to play out because I think there was some great action left on the table.

 

He missed two blatant knockdowns. He looks like one of the refs you see in the premier league who wants to be the star of the show. I'm giving up the c word for lent so let's just call him a twat

 

Don't badmouth Mr. Cole...he is one of my friend's uncle.

 

Who cares about that? The man is a total sausage-wallet. Tell your friend I said so. A prize **** and a sausage-wallet to boot.

 

Damn man did you watch the same fight as everyone eles??? There were actaully TWO missed knockdowns. That rest you speak of that Dirrell got was really a benefit to AA since at the time of the stoppage it was Dirrell that was coming on, and the DR was actaully closing the cut. As far as uncalled lowblows??? Just because AA complained about it did make it low, in fact the spoke about how they talked about AA doing that **** in the fighters meeting.

So many excuses, none valid.

 

yeh this ref sucked. Totally confusing at times as he waved his hands back and forth as though he was calling off the fight, but it was just a "hold on a sec" call. Bad calls, corrupt. Ban him I say.

 

:rofl:rofl:rofl How was Dirrell coming on at the time the fight was stopped. Dirrell was cornered and lunged down like he always does. I've never seen a guy "slip" so much.

He then got caught with a brushing right-hand, looked up at the corrupt Laurence Cole, and produced one of the worst acting performances ever commited to film.

Abraham should have knocked him, the ref, and that barrel of lard, Gary Shaw the **** out. It would have lended the whole farce some credence.

Boxing was disgraced tonight by the actions of these crooks.

 

Not too mention AA's rabbit punching. I just hope Direll is ok. AA I have nothing really bad to say about his hitting Direll when he was down. Such things occur when you are in the heat of the moment. The referee should've been over there.

I like AA, however that nonsense after the fight was ridiculous. The guy actually thought you could hit a fighter when they are down in the ring! Then when he sees what he did, he starts talking **** about Direll, making no attempts towards any reconciliation for what he did nor any worry or care for the man he may have seriously hurt. AA seemed to have more class than that in the past. I guess he was just in the heat of the moment. Upon reflection, hopefully he will rethink himself.

 

First of all, he made the right call on the Dirrell "knockdown" and Arthur's second knockdown. Dirrell was unintentionally tripped, it was obvious from the way he fell, and Arthur was running in wildly when he got hit by Dirrell and fell into the ropes. Knockdowns are often judgement calls and Cole made the right decision in both those intances.

Second of all, there was no final knockdown. The slow mo replay clearly showed that Dirrell when down without being touched. For you to try and insinuate otherwise makes you a stupid ****ing muppet.

Third, Cole rightly broke up the action when Abraham was trying to faceguard Dirrell. It can't even be claimed that Abraham was trying to measure the distance because Dirrell was against the ropes at that time and not moving his feet. So Abraham was trying to get away with an blatantly illegal tactic and he failed.

In summary the ref did a good job and you're completely stupid.
