Look at Dirrell's left arm as he falls on the canvas He moves his left arm so to the front of his body as his is falling onto the canvas. Had he been knocked out this would not have been natural for him to adjust his arm for a more comfortable landing like that. Thats why I think he was not KO'd and putting it on.
What a dumbass. Like someone stated before, I guess Dirrell came up with a master scheme to escape with a DQ win in a whopping fraction of a second. Look at the realtime video here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6423319#post6423319 Dumbass.
(being that there are about 10 post about it....i wrote what i thought and i am going to copy and paste it on each to say my piece) no way..you can watch that again and see it was a clear slip...in the same corner he slipped before. I feel bad for both fighters...it was a ****ed up ugly mess and occurance. I think it should just be nullified... no points for anyone and no dq on aa's record Abraham didnt know he slipped.. abraham thought he was doing what he does..."duckin and jiving" when he is in the corner or against the ropes... he threw on instinct..much like roy jones did agains montey barrett... he was just in the mix and threw. I can understand Dirrell being as upset as he was. hometown and all. He did demonstrate the blueprint...and was winning no matter what any AA fan says. Abraham should have said something to the effect of "i didnt know he slipped" not...he's an actor. or anything else... he talked **** about a guy that was clearly beating him. Dirrell was not acting... he was zoned out like roy been in the past.... when you catch an uppercut on your feet at least you can absorb the shock and roll with it.... when you are low doing a goddamn split practically on a knee (and not from a punch) and you take an uppercut ...you can't even react accordingly....he got a bomb dropped on him in the worst way. We know AA's power... he didnt perform well tonight. and he was lucky to not catch his first loss tonight that he was going to recieve. A fine performance by Andre Dirrell...(hold your head bro) and an unfortunate reaction by Arthur Abraham.

It was a good call to stop the fight and call the DQ. It's a shame though because I thought for sure Abraham was on his way to getting Dirrell. At least evening things up. What surprised me was how well Dirrell took his punches up until that monster right hand in the 10th which I saw as a really **** call by ref Cole. No matter. Dirrell gets the nod. Abraham will still thoroughly destroy Froch and when that happens Abraham will be back on top. Dirrell should count his lucky stars that incident happened and he was able to capitalize on it. Of course I thought he was faking it. The dude is an actor.
ANDRE WARD. A surprising Academy Award nominee due to his previous career in professional boxing and lack of acting traing, Andre Award was not expected to win either the bout or the Oscar. Against the odds he won both by incorporating pugilistic talents with the long heralded 'method' school of improvisational acting. Fans actually believed his performance in the eleventh round. The surprise ending was apparently not in the game plan but was entirely ad libbed by the previously unheralded actor. After being knocked down and injured in the tenth round he slipped in the eleventh round and was tagged a glancing blow by adversary and amateur actor, Arther Abraham, and after a brief few moments of Brando like hesitation, dispalyed acting skills which left many in the crowd with popcorn kernels falling about their clothing. The referee feigned indignation and disqualified the lesser actor and the academy panel immediately realized a new star was born. The acting charade continued for some moments after, apaprently helped by the aforementioned injury in the tenth round. More later on the meteoric rise in the Tinsel Towns latest discovery.
Yeah, Im sure he was faking it when he was lying unconscious on the ground with his leg trembling. Or he really kept up the facade when he was in tears apologizing for getting knocked out. Or when he kept saying he was sorry for losing to his promoter. Or when Gray tried to interview him and he had to be taken out of the ring because he still didnt even know he won by DQ and was still distraught. You have to be ****ing kidding me with this type of question. Abraham is a piece of **** with that "he is a good actor" bull****. **** him...and I used to be a fan and even picked him to win tonight. The sportsmanship he displayed was despicable.
Since 96, don't tell me about delayed reactions, that didn't look like one, it was clear to me that he did it on purpose, the board is 50/50 on it so its not like I have an outrageous opinion. Abraham deserved the DQ, but Direll could have continued, he just didn't want to risk it.
It was obviously an illegal blow and worthy of a DQ. But I think Dirrell greatly exaggerated the effect cuz he wanted a way out. Dirrell put on a master class but the momentum was shifiting and Dirrell knew it. A Chavez-Taylor I scenario could very easily have played out. The DQ I think was a blessing for Dirrell.
I don't know why people have to ask stupid questions like this thread. You've seen what happens to aa opponents when they get hit clean by a power shot.
sorry but thats now how i saw it on Showtime~Oscar performance...good on you revert to namecalling btw...
Ward? You know he was just a spectator tonight don't you? Dirrell..... Also, as a suggestion, scan the forum and check there's not already a thread EXACTLY the same as the one you are about to post. There is like 6 of these ****ers already.
Should not have punched him when he was clearly down. :nono Unfortunately in the heat of the moment it does happen but no excuses for his actions. Dirrell won but could have ended in the next rounds with a Abraham K.O
Ridiculous that the poll results are even at 23-23 ATM. Check out the thread titled Dirrell/Abraham Round 11 and see if you still feel the same way.
