We have seen Abraham's one punch KO power. Why are people saying Dirrell is faking?

Abraham took the ***** route out tonight after he was getting dominated by a classier fighter. Dirrell slipped and that punch Abraham landed when he was on the mat was right on the button.

Why are people saying Dirrell is faking being hurt? We have seen what Abraham is capable of doing many times with a single punch. He doesn't just score TKO's with one hit. He scores true spark your ass Pacquiao-Hatton style KO's.

Do some of you people here on ESB really think Dirrell had no chance of being that hurt or are you just in denial because one of your fighters got outclassed and pulled a Jones-Griffin move?

I think it was more of a "heat of the moment' thing. I never hear posts blasting RJJ of the first Griffin fight. Agreed that people think Dirrell's chin is so good he can take a KO puncher's flush shot while defenseless:roll:

Because they're ****ing idiots. I don't understand how they can in good conscience make post after post about how Dirrell decided in the few seconds after slipping and being fouled to put on that Oscar worthy performance while clinging to the notions that Abraham is a devastating puncher and that Dirrell has a glass jaw.

There are a bunch of unabashed morons on this site.

Yeah. I've made this point in several other threads already. The guys supporting AA talk about his murderous one punch power are now claiming a clean, free shot on Dirrell wouldn't put him out. Remember AA's brother kicking Miranda as he was on the canvas after AA KO'd him? Class guys.... :yep

I was rooting for Dirrell, not one of the murderous AA punch brigade or whatever, but whats irked me is it was a half shot that Dirrell took, looked at the ref, brought both hands to his face then fell on his back as if out cold. And stayed there.

This will run for a while, when it's up on YT it will be gazed over in the cold light of day on here.

the punch turned his head people thought he was faking it because of his "delayed" reaction. look at the jones jr. vs trinidad fight when RJJ I think it was a left hook landed on trinidad, then a few seconds later trinidad collapsed.

I don't know if Abraham did it on purpose. It could have been just a heat of the moment thing. The fact that Dirrell thought he lost the fight tells me he wasn't faking it. He didn't seem to even know what he was talking about in the post-fight interview.

Some people are just truly senseless, that's why. I'm amazed at the things that come out of some mouths on this board.

I think I am with you on this one. Normally I don't get pissed off. Especialy on a boxing forum but the level of disrespect and disregard for the well being of Dirrell's health is starting to irk me.

He hit him because the fight was still going on, the referee hadn't stopped it. He really should have stopped it, ruled a slip or a knock-down, but anyway ruled something. I can only imagine that's the reason Abraham paused for a moment. Meanwhile people are saying it was fake because it was a strange reaction with a few deliberate movements not usually associated with being unconscious. Plus he was on his feet getting emotional a few minutes later. Personally I've never seen a fighter recover from unconsciousness in an animated way. I've been knocked out myself, not in boxing but in a game of soccer, you're in no position to express yourself afterwards.

What disappoints me is mainly that a capable boxer, Dirrell, just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, because of this fight and the Froch fight, so I don't feel able to give him my full support. That's a shame because he may be the most talented boxer in the tournament. And then there's the tournament, which this fight has somewhat spoiled. Abraham's reputation will never recover in some quarters, he probably can't fight in the US again, and maybe Dirrell's reputation won't entirely recover either. It's also possible, however unikely it looks to me at the moment, that Dirrell's health may be affected. That would be terrible for him but it also spoils the tournament. So thats' what I'm interested in. This has been like a terrible accident and I want to know what happened.

So, not everyone on here is a fanboy of anybody btw, so get over yourself.

Where did I say everyone on ESB is a "fanboy"? You might wanna read that post again.

It's ok to question the end of that fight but for people to say they are sure he feigned injury and the level of disrespect toward Dirrell makes me question weather they are true boxing fans or not.

After viewing the fight and witnessing the controversy in posts about AD faking, I decided to show the fight to my mother who is a physician to get her assessment. What we thought was AD's leg shaking was actually him instinctively trying to get up. It was her assessment that after he was hit that he wasn't out completely. His leg moving was him trying to roll over which he began to after about 7 or 8 seconds, but only making it to his side. Apparently she said when you're hit like that you r nerves shut down and you slowly begin to regain control of your body. She also mentioned that the doctor would have known he was faking as soon as they check his vitals, but she would have to have taken the vitals herself to know for sure.
