I wouldn't be too harsh on Abraham. None of us know the intent. The whole incident took place in less than 1 sec from the start of the slip to the punch. Nobody had a lot of thinking time. You see boxers follow up all the time, when you are pumped up and ready to unload, you're not exactly in a position to make a rational decision. I do think it looks a lot worse than it was and slow motion makes it look even worse.
Fighters commit fouls, such as hitting an opponent on the canvas, very frequently. It's not right, but if you were to ban fighters for committing fouls than there'd be a ton of less fighters out there.
He couldn't even admit he was wrong when seeing his own replay. "I can't tell is he down." What? "He's an actor, not a boxer an actor."
If he didn't know that was a foul he should NEVER be allowed back in the ring. If he doesn't know the rules by now then he is too much of a dumb **** to EVER learn them.
He had bad intentions with that though. Dirrell was down for a while, and then aa decided to unload a monster shot. Late in the the fight, deliberate, and coming from a powerful puncher like that, it could do some serious damage.

The DQ was fair, and Arthur, while jazzed, should have had time to stop. But I am of the opinion that Dirrell was going to struggle mightily to make it through 5 more minutes. I honestly think Arthur would have finished him tonight.
Exactly. Dirrel was totally ineffective. Dirrell was scared shitless and fought like the ****ing coward that he is. He was faling down to avoid punches. What a joke. He ****ing deserved to get knocked out. Abraham is the MAN.
Don Halpin is the guy Tyson hit when down. He also hit Bruno when he was down. Riddick Bowe-Buster Mathis was a no-contest because of this sort of foul. Among his many fouls, Terry Norris hit Leonard and Waters when they were down. Foreman against Norton and Roman. Foreman looked like a primitive caveman against Roman. De La Hoya-Campanella, Lewis-Acey. It's good when you see referees actually penalize fighters for doing it (Norris-Waters for example).
