all your posts share common themes and I'm on to it. Damn straight I'll call you out when I see you making yet another ignorant thread.
Even though the fight was stopped rightly so by disqualification,i`ve got my suspicions about Dirrel.Whether there was water in the corner or not he does seem to end up on the floor a bit too easily. He did it against Froch and that was blatant to avoid a punch.
At least the scorecards represent the fight. What if a guy is winning all 12 rounds then with 10 seconds left, his battered opponent gets caught by an accidental headbutt, elbow or late punch and goes down, knowing full well his opponent will be disqualified? It works both ways, but scorecards are the best way to find a winner, should a foul happen. If it's sonetiing like biting, that is an obvious DQ though.
What are themes? Are you accusing me of being anti-American? If so, have a look at my favourite boxers. I just call these things as I see them. Look back on my comments about Soto/Lorenzo and you will find consistency. Consistency whichvwouldnt exist, if I was biased.
the rules are not clear enough on this, it does give a lot of scope for play-acting. The soto affair was a messy situation in which it seemed that even Cortez didn't know what to do. But last night, AA was stupid and should not have done it. But even so, how do we know that Dirrell's lack of clarity was for real?
stepped? I think if he done that poor Dirrell would have really gotten concussion. he was standing and tagged him - yeah hard shot, especially if you are down and not expecting it, but the one that put Dirrell down the previous round was much harder actually (a lot more motion and body behind it).
Exactly. There's no way you can prove Abraham intentionally hit him and you can't prove Dirrell was hurt. There are too many loopholes, which is why in these circumstances, a DQ is not the right decision. I would say points deducted is fair. If he can't carry on, maybe he should lose? Or maybe scorecards?
I completely agree. The rules in boxing are sometimes really gray and this seems to be one of them. Add to this these two possible scenarios: 1) the same happening in Germany 2) the other way round situation in Detroit where AA is on the receiving end of a foul. Do you REALLY think that the outcome would be the same? We all know it probably wouldn't, which just goes to show what kind of idiotic rules our sport has.
These people wouldnt be satisfied unless Dirrell were carried out on a strecher, just to save Abrahams 0. They can't stand to see their good old boy lose.
It's an interesting point, I think that DQ leaves this naturally grey area, though. I think that to be certain that there is no acting the DQ needs to be changed to points taken away or whatever. if that had been the case last night I have a feeling that Dirrell would have been able to continue.
So then you create a free pass for a fighter who is behind on points to pile into a downed opponent knowing that he won't be dq'd, but might be able to hurt his opponent enough to stop him continuing?
