I seriously think any Euro fighter going to the U.S. will need to KO Ward to get a draw

Ward? In what way would he be like Ottke other than his weight and being a male boxer?

He had free reign to headbutt his opponent all night and the ref did nothing.

Right, because comparing someone who has a long history of favorable hometown decisions to a man who's never needed one makes perfect sense. If you think Ward's gonna get some hometown cooking, just say it, but don't compare him to someone who's famous for it.

I saw him do it twice. Neither looked intentional to me. Nor did the first headbutt of the night when Kessler did it to Ward...

And how come this chancer Ward is allowed ALL his fights at home. No other fighter in the tourney is afforded this special treatment. I know the US needs some success in boxing at the moment but this is rediculous!

Ridiculous. Kessler complained less about this than some of you guys. You are aware he was in the ring with Ward the night in question, and he could have done something. You guys make it sound like Ward was in there with poor defenseless Kessler. He's a damned good pro fighter and there are ways to deal with moments like that. Bottom line is he had no answers for Andre Ward that night, on any level.

PS- I also thought hey were unintentional, a result of Ward seeking to clinch when the range dictated.

please. kessler DOESN"T MOVE HIS HEAD -protect yourself at all times -other than the headbutts kessler was getting out boxed by a fighter who adjusts and uses angles, kessler is a one two puncher who fights in straight lines.

Uh, how about you ask the people involved in planning the Super Six 6, or do some research. Could be a condition he requested so he would participate and the others agreed to it. Its speculation on your part and you are automatically assuming the worst. However, this is still just the group stage, once the fighters for the Semis are set they'll negotiate venues. I will concede that if Andre makes it to the finals and never leaves the states, that would be unfair to the other fighters. Then again, if they agree to it, they only have themselves to blame.

If Ward makes it to the knockout stages he had better fight a way from home.

It would be better if he fought AD in Berlin and Green in London? That makes sense. Also, what fight should Ward have lost but got the nod anyway? This is a stupid thread.
