So, I guess a fight like Sonnen/Marquart sucked because Sonnen was afraid to stand with Marquart and kept taking it to the ground? Why didn't he give the fans a stand up battle, which apparently is all they want?

I think the people who boo are actually in the minority. People have booed Machida at some of his fights for being tentative. But most fans appreciate his style, and realize he has a very particular strategy and approach to fighting. However his fight with Shogun could have been much more exciting had he been more aggresive and didn't just hesitate and wait for Shogun to come to him. I could certainly argue that he wasn't thinking of the fans that night.

 

GSP always comes out to rap, usually canadian rap though. I was surprised by Juicy, but who give a **** he likes the beat and it relaxes him on his walk out

 

True, maybe "juicy" does relax him and if that's so I now understand why he used it. I was just thinking he was trying to express himself with that song as a lot of fighters do when choosing their ringwalk music. When Roy Nelson used "I'm fat" I thought that was a great choice. He is fat, and he's pretty comical so it made sense. :deal

Yeah I hear ya. While on the subject, I love Mirs entrance song. I actually used 'Amazin' by Kanye in my last fight. Listen to the lyrics, the song is perfect. A little arrogant, but sick beat and any song that says "I'm a monster" is sick for a ring walk
