It's nice to see that, even when the lessons to take away from a fight are obvious, some people like yourself can still get things wrong. More experienced fans like myself understand these things better. A few more years on ESB and you'll get it.
Because Dirrell had a big style advantage over him and yet Abraham never looked like he could not still score [another] knockdown/ knockout. The way he dealt with speed and movement confirmed to me that only Ward and Dirrell would be favourites against him at 168 lbs, with Dirrell only a slight favourite.
Dirrell is really flawed, but also really good. It's a shame that Ward will have to kick him out of the tournament.
The tournament odds are changing all the time! If anything, that keeps the excitement level high. Which underdog is next to pull out the upset? But very unfortunate situation from Arthur's POV. Of course the shot was unintentional, but it's a DQ anyway, and when he was finally coming on strong, knocked Dirrell down and had the stamina advantage (I was quite surprised actually), he lands this stupid punch and instead of a competitive, exciting ending most likely in Dirrell's favor (but it would've been a hell of a last 5 minutes), it's a massive blow for King AA's rep, and he can only blame himself. He still doesn't deserve the smack he's getting and people should rather praise Dirrell, who finally lived up to his own natural talent and fought the fight he should've a few month back, but this is ESB. This version of the Matrix only showed up at the end of the Froch fight and he dominated that part, so let's just hope it's the new standard! Great job by the talented American and GO MATRIX! Kick Ward's ass! People so easily dismissed all the losers so far, but the clash of styles will result in more unexpected wins, I guarantee!
He is dangerous when he starts throwing those desperation shots but he is also pretty wide open. Dirrell wasn't about to stop and counter him but there will be punchers that will and AA will get stopped. Imagine if it was Bute digging to that body. Little doubt in my mind Bute would have stopped Abraham last night.
I picked Dirrell to beat AA based on his style. AA is always gonna struggle againt any elusive, long range boxers. His workrate is just to low to win a decision on points against a boxer like Dirrell. AA despite having this weakness now highlighted would be my pick to beat Froch. Froch is there to be hit and AA will definately hit him. Only way Froch wins this is if he can somehow over power AA and beat him at his own game, but he'll have to walk through bombs to do that.
I'm sorry... you know this... how? Intentional in a way he was throwing when Dirrell was down, but it happened many times with over-excited fighters landing one more, and if you really think these boxers purposefully disqualified themselves, you need medical care. Either way, it's a DQ and that's what goes to the record books.
