I was in the gym about 2 years ago and watching a friend prepare for an amateur mma fight. While doing some boxing sparring against a HW (he fights 185) he was dropped by a left hook and fell to a knee, immediately following the left hook, he was hit flush on his knees by a right hook. Knowing it was an accident he immediately got up only to collapse a few seconds later. He was taken to the hospital only to find out his brain hit his skull and caused swelling. His fight career is now over and he still suffers from migraine headaches, so all this calling Andre a faker with no heart is uncalled for because in this sport, no such thing as doctors being over cautious.

We all know that. Only simpletons believe otherwise.

Some of the idiots on here think that knockouts happen immediately. When in fact more often then not you lose consciousness later.

These people reason that because he didn't brain bleed, he was faking! They would only be satisfied if the guy was comatose.

A lot of people are never the same after getting KTFO like that. Sometimes once the chin is cracked, it's never as tough as it was before, and sometimes a guy's psyche is permanently damaged.

I hope this doesn't happen for Dirrel. If not for the cheap shot, then he more than likely would've won a clear UD.

Great post man I'm sorry for what happened to your friend. I couldn't think about my life without doing boxing. I'd probably become depressed and resort to drugs. Your friend is strong:good

It is amazing that anyone thinks that Dirrell wasn't genuinely hurt. He took a flush shot from a known big puncher while on the floor. Also as he was on the canvas his head took the majority of the force of the blow, unlike if he had been standing where his body would have been anchored to absorb some of the power.

I can see why ESB is sometimes seen as a laughing stock of a boxing forum. There seems to be controversy in every fight no matter how straight forward the end result.

Yea he trains MMA fighters now and runs a gym out of his garage. Plus he gets 120 oxycontin 20mg every month so he's just fine LOL.

The actual punch was clean but it was thrown so low, it couldn't possibly have the same effect as a normal punch, thankfully, because Dirrell would have been hurt.

I don't think anyone doubts that it was dangerous. Yeah, there are also examples where a fighter has a delayed reaction too. It just all seemed a bit strange to me.

I do think there are genuine concerns over the post-fight reaction though. Like I've said a few times, if Dirrell was genuinely hurt, dazed and confused, why was he stood up, ready to be interviewed? If a fighter is in such a terrible state, the doctors or his team should have kept him lying down or sat down. Remember, most guys after suffering a big KO are only allowed up when they have recovered but Dirrell hadn't and was giving an interview. It's either really suspicious or every single person who claims to care for Dirrell or it's their job to, failed, because he was not fit to be interviewed.

So if you were not clinically ******ed you would know you can throw a punch like that with real force. You ever seen a body shot KO.. That was the same position and velocity of that punch. I think your body can take a shot better than your head with no support of your legs He could of broke his ****ing neck.

And the way Abraham threw his hands in the air. Real proud of himself.
