Well Froch will have a chance to implement his tactics for at least 2 or 3 rounds while Abraham weighs him up. That is when the body shots will be key to take a little out of Abraham. Dirrell did that well last night. But many have done that and won the early rounds and still got a L on their record, thats not where things are won and lost. It's neutralizing Abraham when he gets things going that is the key, that is what Dirrell did that nobody else has been able to do. And he did it with legs, athleticism, pretty good defensive reflexes. I don't think any of those are attributes associated with Froch so it probably will be more of a case of trying to make Abraham pay for his lunges, and well...going to war. No other way to put it.
Say what you want about Froch/Calzaghe but Froch is in line now for two fights which are more exciting than anything Calzaghe ever went through in his career.
Your love of the guy makes me sick :rofl Tell me i'm lying, any fan of the sport cannot possibly be un-excited by the prospect of his next two fights
Of course not, I'm looking forward to all the fights in the tournament and I pretty much look forward to ANY fight to varying degrees...yes even Matt Hatton. I'm a boxing fan not a fanboy of fighters. But this thread just doesn't have anything to do with Joe Calzaghe so I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to have said to make you happy :huh
Ward. And not just because he beat Kessler, I said he'd beat Kessler I just think its going to be hard for ANY of the Euros to deal with his well rounded style. All the Euros are just a bit stiff aren't they? And of the Americans I think Dirrell has a chance to cause him problems but until we see him in the ring recovered and with no lasting effects he can't be favourite. Green has come in but its going to be hard for him in this class, he wans't too impressive against Simms for me and he lost to Miranda of course.
I think it's hard to call. I've found all the Super 6 hard to call pre fight. It's the great thing about it, we don't really know how the styles will match up until we see them. Neither fighter has ever been really hurt in the ring. I know Abraham went down last night, but it was an off balance knock down, with the aid of a wee push too. We know both fighters have good chins, we know both have plenty heart, and we know both can bang. Froch isn't hard to hit, Abraham has a tight defence. Neither have great foot movement, or great boxing skills. We know Froch is likely to be the busier, and has a reach advantage. However... how this all stacks up on fight night, well I've no idea.
Yeah thats mine too. I think he'll be able to outbox Abraham in a similar fashion to that of Dirrell, only he seems to have alittle more 'pop' in his punches than Dirrell and will hurt Abraham. He'll definitely be able to outbox Froch and I can't see him being nearly as negative as Dirrell was home/away. He seems smart enough to know not to get involved in a war too which obviously wont bode well for Froch. A little too strong for Dirrell in my opinion. Will probably stop him. Abraham didn't land nothing on Dirrell early one but when he did he punches seemed to catch up on him pretty quickly and I think we'd have seen an AA stoppage if it wasn't for the DQ. Ward will hit him (Dirrell aint no defensive genius) and will do so early and it will catch up on him. I hope want Froch to win but I just can't see it really at all
froch beats AA all day long,AA never has anyone trading with him,but froch will all night long, and get him out of there. froch has been got to and taken it,whereas AA has always been able to bully. take it to the bank,im ALWAYS right
Froch is too slow and not powerful enough to penetrate Abrahams defence IMO. If Froch tries to trade he will get taken out.
Depends on whether Froch can fight smart and not get carried away hitting AA's gloves with his bombs. I think people underrate Froch's boxing brain and skills. I'm not saying he's PBF but he's got some smarts and a long reach. If he can fight at his range and fire shots under and around the guard I can see him doing enough to win the rounds and, especially to the body, hurt AA. My biggest worry is if he gets tagged and stung and stands in there punching back. If he does that with AAs shorter punches I think he gets knocked out.
