Yeh I beg to differ slightly Sox.

I genuinally think the casual fan doesn't really give a toss about titles or belts when it comes to these two. The 2006 bout of Mundine vs Green was a WBA title eliminator if I remember correctly, hence was insignificant to the promotion.

Recently, the mainstream got right behind Danny because he was fighting RJJ, not the 'prestigious' IBO Crusierweight title.

And when it comes to Danny and Mundine, most of the casual viewer just simply wants to see if Danny can knock Choc's block off and in their eyes 'shut his big mouth'. Which as facts stand, he didn't in 2006 and now Danny's obvious mission is to try and make that happen so both he and Choc can enjoy their super-retirement coin.

A belt is a belt, that's boxing. Anyone would think you can win one by popping to the supermarket judging by the general attitude on here.

All you have to do is pay the right people at the right time and you can get any fight sanctioned as a "world title".

I predict Mundine to fight a few more tomato cans and retire.

He will not fight anyone remotely capable of beating him, and that includes Danny Green.

It's over, the party is finished.

wonder what he will do when he retires?? not media.promote or train fighters perhaps.see how he looks against Woods at SMW that will indicate if he goes up to challenge Green at CW IMO.

Most belts are bull**** these days - fact!

We've come a long way, predominantly downhill, since there were few enough organisations that belts were actually meaningful.

    Correct mate.

The younger fight fans unfortunately never saw the better side of boxing when titles and belts did actually mean something.

Pre IBF, some WBA titleholders suffered critisism because the only other champion in their division held the, at times more prestigious, WBC title.

Oh for those days again mate - the fact is most titles today are a friggin joke!

I'm with you for the most part CHB when it comes to the number of titles/belts on offer, but fact is, that's today's boxing sphere and we work with it accordingly.

I don't mind any of the big 4 and I believe a champion in any sanctioning body is a champion if he stands up on his patch and defends accordingly. If he then unifies against other champions, fantastic for himself and the sport.

I do stand by my earlier comments though that some fighters simply don't need belts to stand on their own and be able to carry/sell a fight.

It would be great to make all the title holders fight each other & see who walks away with all the belts.
