Wow. Really cool ... notice the difference how the young Charles used his movement to vary his attack ?

Yeah. Even with the poor quality of footage it is immediately evident that he's moving with added zest and speed.

Is the 2nd AND 3rd available?

I'm sure there's a 17 minute clip of these two.

what a great fight! both wonderful boxers. the film is a little fast but that is a minor quible. young charles has an excelent hook off the jab here but seems a bit flighty with energy to burn. he reminds me a lot of young holyfield with a lot of bouncing and unnecessary movement that he sorted out as he bacame a more poised and seasoned operater.

this is an excelent class level, its rare to see such youngsters with as many moves today. ezz has movement but its not dancing lateral footwork and he is eager to maul and claim at times. perhaps in the lower weight classes he enjoyed superior strength and charles shoves marshal a lot here. no doubt he hits hard but some faster lashing punches miss more than as a heavyweight but that may be down to marshal being just as fast and so fine at weaving and rolling.

Just a sidenote to the 2nd Charles / Marshall fight shown here..In their first fight Lloyd Marshall stopped Charles in the 8th round...Prior to this fight Ezzard Charles lost to the veteran Ken Overlin by dec..Overlin is forgotten today...
P.S.When Ken Overlin was middleweight champion, he was quoted as saying" I am convinced Harry Greb ,would have licked me and Billy Soose, the same night, without a rest "...Such was the aweHarry Greb was held in...For what it's worth...

I love this fight. It is fought at a torrid intensity but everything is done to near technical perfection.

Charles looks supoib with his varied attack and fast combinations but Marshall is making it an inside WAR and taking away the speed of Charles abit, and making it a 'muddy track' as Teddy Atlas would say. Marshall shows some brilliantly crafty tricks but Charles's offence is really brilliant.
