It seems to be a problem in boxing now. Just like we are losing great body punchers there seems to be a lack of great one-shot KO artist. As of right now probably P4P Randall Bailey hits the hardest. IMO we just don't have that many one shot KO artist guys like Jackson, Hearns, G-Man, Shavers around anymore. Or is it just me?:huh

Would you say guys like G-man and Jackson where natural punchers or worked to become big punchers?

Hearns wasn't a big puncher, but he became one after hooking up with Manny, so I think the lack of big punchers maybe due to a combination of current trainers and the lack of natural punchers.

Very true. But of the guys that come to mind that are capable of it, Wlad and Haye at HW. Then I can't really think of one that's proven until Abraham, then Pacquiao proven at 140 and below. These guys don't have to do it all the time, mind you, Julian Jackson had a long spell or two in between straight kayos. Even the guys who are most capable of it, don't necessarily do it often.

Edit: Darchinyan can do it too, by the way.

It's impossible to rate someone as a one punch KO artist, these KOs come when a big puncher times perfectly but never when a puncher lands anything he throws. Pacquiao, Abraham, W.Klitschko, Darchinyan are all one punch KO artists. I'm sure there are others out there I'm either missing or will prove to be one punch KO artists as they step up.

    I agree.

Some guys out there can produce great KOs on occasion (Rafael Marquez is a KO puncher but hardly ever fights now, Wladimir Klitschko is capable of it but seems reluctant, Arthur Abraham and David Haye can produce them, Manny Pacquiao has given us two beauties vs David Diaz and Ricky Hatton in the past couple of years), but none of them come close to the horrible concussive single-shot power of a Julian Jackson or a Bob Foster.

In the last who weeks we have seen three one shot KO's from three champions in Wlad, Abraham and Maidana. Don't really know what you are talking about to be honest. There are lots of KO artists out there.Off the top of my head, Valero, Lemieux, David Haye spring to mind.

Punchers are born not made. There are the same amount now, as there has ever been. We've just been treated to some vicious one punch knockouts in the past, but there are as many guys around now, who are as capable of delivering those vicious knockouts.

I don't see Maidana as one shot KO artist. Abraham might have a case though.

No he didn't Kayo isn't anything great IMO. He's much like Valero a bunch of KOs over limited opposition.
