Doesn't matter if Direll was faking or not, its unproveable either way and doesn't change the fact its a DQ.

Dirrell seems to be overacting near the end of that video asking ''What happened man? What happened man?" He'd presumably already been told several times, and the decision had been announced in his favor.

Abraham had to be DQ'd though, but I have a feeling that this will just make him madder.

I watched it before I knew about any of the fuss on the old interweb, and my first reaction was WTF? He is ****in bullshitting! It just looked very forced, like he lifted his hand up as if to say ooo that hurt, then decided to go the full hog and pretend to go unconscious. The way he suddenly came round as soon as the ref mentioned the doctor looked a bit iffy as well. I guess we will never know though:tired

    Agree 100%.

Abraham should not have thrown the punch and we'll never know whether Dirrell was faking or not.

I'm not a fan of Dirrell at all. There is something about the guy that grates on me, but Abraham was in the wrong in this instance, at least for allowing himself to get frustrated and in turn, giving Dirrell the opportunity to win the fight before the final bell.

Abraham has done the rest of the fighters in the super six a MASSIVE favour. Dirrell was ko-ed and ko-ed badly. Even though it was an illegal blow, I suspect Dirrell will start having doubts just as he was becoming an impressive offensive as well as defensive boxer.

Also, does anyone else think that victory by DQ should get you three points? In a way, you've been robbed of any chance of KO-ing the opponent who has caused the end of the fight by illegal means. Logically, you should get the three, not two...

This is a simple one:-( He was down, the punch was intentional, and he was hurt. Could he get back up? maybe, but why should he, he was hurt from an illegal blow that could have led to him getting KO'D if the fight went on. He was winning the fight easily and making AA look like a novice at times. AA deserved the disqualifiaction, ****in murder to watch anyway.

Putting aside the fact it was clearly an illegal punch, borne of frustration, Dirrell doesn't go down like a man KO'd.

I've never seen an unconscious man put his hand to his face, fall gently on his side then roll comfortably onto his back.

had a touch of the Drogbas about it that.

It seemed a classic case of the away fighter getting frustrated at decisions not going his way. Like the knockdown of Dirrell that wasnt counted. So when Dirrell ducked/slipped down low Abraham just took a swing out of pure frustration and got himself DQ'd.

Abraham was getting to Dirrell more and more as the fight wore on and Dirrell was fading slightly. It seemed to me like he over re-acted to the shot to take the DQ win there and then.
