Was Dirrell faking it???

I'm utterly shocked at the poll results. What is this board coming too.

 

First off, if he was faking, which i KNOW he wasn't, what did Dirrell have to gain by faking it? He was dominating AA and was well on his way to a wide UD victory.

Apparently ESB has more than 100 psychologists/neurologists/boxing trauma experts/tough guys. At least they can teach us things we don't know about the sweet science and the impact of blows to various body parts.

How do you 'know' he wasn't? The evidence is he received no meaningful injury. That's one thing we know for certain. On the other hand it looked like he'd suffered brain damage. So what does that tell you? Either he had a brain injury which had mysteriously resolved itself by the time he got to the hospital, or he exaggerated the effects of the punch.

To your question, he avoided having to continue when not feeling 100%. Why is everything all or nothing on this site. Look, he was buzzed. The penalty is a point deduction for the infringing boxer and the hurt boxer gets a few minutes to compose himself. If he can't or says he can't then the doc has a look at him. But Dirrell clearly didn't fancy taking the chance against Abraham while on wobbly legs. So he put all the options out of the window with his instant coma and leg-twitches.

I have some sympathy for him, but I really don't have any for people who can't see he was hamming it up. It sends a shiver down my spine that people believe a show so readily.

well said, i cant say it didnt look a little suspicious (delayed reaction, but there has been knock outs with delayed reaction) but i just can't see dirrell ducking out of the biggest fight and what would have been his biggest win of his career, especially with only 5 minutes remaining (a schoolboy amatuer bout)

He looked and acted pretty concussed to me, but going to the hospital to see if he had one or not is not wierd to me.

Dirrell knew what happened it was a act , he keep telling Jim Grey "i got knocked out man!" then right when the camera was going to cut away he was like "he hit me when i was down" which proves he knew all along and wanted to reassure the public he won.

 

Now i know that almost half the people on this board are idiots.

Why he would fake this, i have no idea. What does he gain by faking it, i have no idea?

 

Many of you people are dumb. Many of you have also clearly never been knocked unconscious before. It's not an on/off switch.

 

I dont understand either. Why would the guy that was way up on the cards and was never in any real trouble in the fight, AND was winning the round thus far decide to fake being hurt by a power punch he didnt see coming from one of the P4P feared punchers in the game and then carry on faking after wakes up and act all crazy. I'm waiting on the people preaching this to start bringign up the moon landing "hoax" and the fact that 9/11 was an "inside job". Its crazy.

It takes some real bias and/or stupidity to believe the "acting" stuff. I've seen delayed reaction out cold KO's that took far longer than the couple seconds Dirrell took to go out and it DISGRACEFUL that anyone would be shitting on the victim of a cheapshot. It's debatable whether or not Abraham knew he was down(although his classless remarks at the end speak volumes) but the man was hurt...he had no reason to fake ****.

 

he faked it he knew he would win by DQ if he faked. ne one could fake just laying there.
